So he was on a Spanish (from Spain) radio show just now and he mentioned he's starting his own promotional firm with his manager (Sampson Lewkowicz). He also said there's going to be a movie (or documentary?) about him.
Once again he reaffirms the negotiations with Mayweather are very advanced and concrete. He says he just has to wait one more week, but he's extremely sure the fight is going to be made.
this makes a lot of sense because sergio and co said they would have big news 15 days after the fight and roger said they would have no problem fighting sergio at 154
this is the link but bs have blocked it http://www.***************.com/profiles/blogs/sergio-martinez-starts-own-promotional-company-and-floyd-negotiat
can any one get a audio of the interview
I have NO DOUBT that if this fight happens, initially people will say "Mayweather is stepping big and fighting one of the best in the world", kinda like how when the Ortiz fight was made people initially said "Ortiz is a tough fight, clearly the best WW not named Pac after he beat Berto. Floyd is stepping up this time".
Ortiz was an easy pick for Floyd and a clear underdog in betting houses. Berto is a protected bum. Sergio would be a much higher quality opponent.
Still, after listening to Martinez on the radio, I didn't get the feeling that there was anything solid going on with either Pac or Floyd. It just felt like he was fishing for a few fans in Spain, doing some promo, and telling everybody Barker was such a great win because he was undefeated, meh. For once they had a boxer on the radio, it was a let down, to be honest.
It slowly turned over the next few months, and people said "Ortiz is Maidana's left overs, he's not even that good anyway. Easy win, another cherry pick for Floyd".
Again, I HAVE NO DOUBT that if this is made, over the next few months, Pac fans will say "Martinez sucked and was never really that good anyway". What I saw in the Barker fight was a guy who struggled with the strange Darren Barker for a few rounds, adjusted, was still up on all the scorecards, and KO'd him late. Sergio still looked as quick as ever, as strong, and he showed he can adapt a bit to win a fight.
If Floyd fights Sergio and wins, none of you Pac fans can say s**t, but I am sure you will.
I hope it happens. People said Floyd wouldn't fight Mosley after Shane KO'd Margarito because it was too much of a risk...he did. People said he wouldn't choose to fight Victor Ortiz after he dethroned Berto because Ortiz was a risky fight, especially for your first fight back...he did.
Yes, Dibella said Macklin or Lee in March is possible, if Mayweather doesn't happen. He said, if Pac and Mayweatehr don't fight next, than he hopes Floyd will accept a fight with Sergio. It sort of makes sense. Dibella has been praising Mayweather every chance he gets, someone else from Martinez' team came out and talked up Mayweather and big PPV #'s, Martinez has always said he wants the fight with Mayweather first.
If it doesn't happen, it's NO DIFFERENT than what Pac did when he asked for a 142 lb fight with Mosley and backed out, or when he asked for a 150 lb fight with Martinez and backed out. Either way I won't be happy with Mayweather, as Sergio is clearly the best fight out there, since Pac already lined up Bradley next for some reason (I like the Bradley pick, but you Pac fans can't admit that Margarito, Mosley, Marquez, and Bradley were all lined up in advance...the fighters even confirmed it).
If Mayweather fights Martinez, NO ONE can say s**t about Floyd. Sergio is clearly one of the top 3 fighters in the world, bigger, maybe even quicker at this point, and is better than ever in his career right now.
big deal...floyd now know sergio aint really that good after the barker fight......decnet fight on paper but it should be an easy UD by the homo...
yeah because we never heard about this fight beign made before the Barker fight took place, right?
So lets just ignore the fact that floyd has 6 court cases pending and is for sure getting locked up.
You claim that you want to see the best fight the best, but when a pretty good fight is rumored to be in negotiations, you want to start talking about one of the fighters going to jail?
for pac, that's the highest weight he has fought at and considering he has climbed weighclasses like no one has, asking him to keep going up is the bigger joke..... atleast floyd has fought at full 54 and is obvioulsy bigger guy than pacquaio so 54 should be ok.....plus, sergio now says he' s ok with fighting at 150...
Pacquiao is only willing to fight Martinez at 147 though.
I'm sure if the fight doesn't take place at the 154 lb limit, people are going to complain or find an excuse to devalue either fighter's win. I do think Floyd will beat him though, catchweight or not.
scared and pacquaio do'nt belong in the same sentence......pac aint no homo like floyd...
Thats why he handicaps them first , just because he is not scared to fight the guy at his best ,,,, you kids are a joke .
