Upon entering the Showtime Super Six Tournament, each of the fighters save maybe Taylor, were bright stars in the midsts of what was to be brilliant promising careers.
And although some may still go on to fulfil that destiny, the tournament has definitely taken some luster off a few of it's participant's careers.
We know Andre Ward arguably has gained the most from participating in the tournament but who would you say has lost the most?
I think Dirrell. Probably the most skilled boxer in the tourney but exposed as having no heart. He was too scared to engage with Froch, played dead against AA and blatantly ducked Ward. I think he had the most promise and talent and made the worst decisions.
Abraham was just exposed as the one dimensional fighter he always was.
Green was always a B level fighter.
Taylor was ruined before the tourney began.
I agree with what a lot of you guys are saying, but consider this. Abraham was exposed but I think he still can get some money fights I don't think he'll totally fall out of the top middle/super middle scene unless the psychological damage is too severe.
Allan Green defeats could have the severest results because of a few reasons. One, these defeats exposed the lack luster ability that he has. He has some major flaws in his boxing fundamentals that must be immediately corrected otherwise his career will be over soon. Two, the psychological effect of these losses could weigh extremely heavy because he'll notice his flaws when watches film. He'll notice that he doesn't match up well against top level opposition. Three, these losses will effect his rankings and I question if he has the will and love for the sport to build himself back up.
Jermain Taylor clearly has some neurological problems and this existed prior to the fight. All of his defeats (except against Pavlik) have been in the last or later rounds in which he suffered a great deal of punishment. The Super Six Tourney just ended Taylor's chance for any big fight in the future when and if he comes back. It would take a good two years of dominating NABA and NABF level competition before anyone could even potentially take him seriously.
Andre Dirrell of course was exposed as a punk in diapers not yet ready for the big leagues. The only problem is how will promoters feel about him now? I do think he's young enough to bounce back and bounce back pretty quickly but he'll have to take some chances. Right now I think he needs to change his camp because they are enabling him. At least this is what I saw on 360. He has to take a fight or a couple of fights were from the public view he could lose and if he performs well in those fights he could regain public interest.
Definitely Abraham. Top favourite together with Kessler and took 3 losses, 2 of them were pretty much shutouts. Instead of making it big in the USA, his future in Germany is now uncertain...
Dirrell, Taylor and also Kessler are close together. Kessler will definitely bounce back, Taylor is finished.
Dirrell has lost the most as far as his career, but Abraham lost the most as far as reputation and standing within the sport. Hard to choose between those two.
Dirrel lost abit of respect but thats all he had to lose because he wasnt expected to do well. In terms of who lost the most it must be Abraham who was many peoples pick to win the whole thing. He lost 3 times and has now left the division so that tells its own story but he didnt see teh tourny out and nobody could stop him even outof his weight class.
Kessler was hard done by vs Ward and redeemed himself vs Froch. I imagine his rep hasnt suffered . If anything its increased slightly as has Frochs.
Ward and Dirrell were the inexperienced rookies who were put under Kessler, Froch, Abraham, and Taylor to win, weren't they? If I remember correctly.
Wasn't it like that, Kessler was favored, followed by Froch, and then Abraham? And the 3 Americans.
I forgot how it went, but I remember no one thought Ward or Dirrell would win it to begin with...so I don't know what they lost? It was after Ward beating Kessler, and Dirrell beating Froch, that they got their respect.
Dirrell had his career f*cked up totally buy the super six. He was too green for Froch, he was scared of going the distance and lost because of that. Again, same thing with Abraham he was tiring in the late rounds, Abraham was about to spark hinm out cold so he pretended to be KO'd and got the DQ.

This.
Couldn't have said it better my self.

1st off I'd say Taylor had the least to prove he was the most accomplished.
Abraham at least finished the tournament even though he did lose and looked horrible
He made his money and got knocked off but now he can go back down in weight
I would say dirrell came out losing the most. Lost Paydays when he comes back I'm sure he won't be making half of what he would of in the tourney fights, inactivity will hurt him as well. But the most significant thing he lost is dignity and respect.
Arthur Abraham.
He was a favorite leading into the Super 6. He had an "invincible" aura about him. Then he lost to Direll in a controversial DQ, was outclassed by Froch and Ward and lost his aura, then to make things worse he lost his drivers license :nonono:
yeah....pretty much.....
