Ask yourself also the question "If Sergio win at 154, is it legit?". It goes two way, so I think 150 is the most credible weight that both would get recognition.
If any fighter decides to drop weight for a fight it is his choice and us blaming it on his opponent is silly. All the fighter had to do was say no. He is responsible for what happens if he doesn't.
Yeah thats true but factor in the payday and opportunity and u could see why a fighter without leverage would take that chance.
90% of the people who say beforehand the win would be legit, would refuse to give Pacquiao credit after. That's just the way people are.
150 would be stupid, neither fighter would get much credit. Martinez wins, he picked on a smaller man. Pacquiao wins, Martinez was a drained zombie. 154 or no fight.

Martinez is almost 40 himself though. There's only one ageless wonder. Boxing is shady, the best I can hope for is that he doesn't sell out.
Hes 36....
I agree. And I highly doubt Martinez would risk completely ****ing over his career for a $2.5 million max payday unless he knew he could make 150 in a healthy manner. I'd give Pac/May credit if they take the fight. I understand they're small fighters so Martinez needs to make large concessions if he wants to make it happen.

Floyd doesn't need a catchweight of 150 to fight any jr middleweight. Pacman does because he's not as good. But if Martinez goes to 150 & can't perfrom that's his own fault & they deserve credit for it.
