I would like boxing to make a determination on whether or not a punch landed on the Brachial Plexus is legal. I have seen countless fighter get knocked out with this strike and the announcers remain clueless as to why the fighter went down.
For those that do not know the Brachial Plexus is a nerve that runs along the neck from the ears to the trapezius muscle. A strike to the Brachial Plexus will have the same effects of a clean strike to the chin.
Sergio Martinez knocked out Barker with this punch last night. Other fights include Roy Jones vs. Green and Roy Jones vs Glen Johnson.
This strike is legal in MMA but boxing seems to be oblivious to this strike and its effect.
Think about every fight you saw when the fighter was completely covered up and was knocked out. I think boxing should make a stand on this issue because if I was fighting Mayweather, with his style, thats what I would be aiming for.
yea, jones, barker and that guy in your video all got hit in the vagus nerve(at the end of the jaw, below the ear)
the plexus thing you're talking about is really more oriented around the lower traps right behind the collar bone

jones, barker got hit on the vagus nerves
and that guy in the video also got hit on the vegas nerves
the plexus thing you're talking about is at yoru lower traps , not really the back of your neck
