WoW, Prime Winky Wright would beat Sergio

you heard martinez in the post fight he dont want no part of bhop even at catchweight of 170. winky fought him to a very close controversial fight at 175. nuff said. This right here. Wink fought some great fighters. Bhop fought real dirty against Wink and had a huge size advantage. Taylor also had a pretty big size advantage and he fought him to a draw. Winky doesn't go down, I see a prime Wink taking it. It's not all about the wins, it's about the people you've fought. Winky fought better opponents.

I could see that. Not much of an insult though. Not at all. Winky was a great fighter, he'd win and win comfortably.

sergio is great but has done nothing to be mentioned in the same breath as winky. winky was a top 3 p4p for a long time sergio is just now getting there. prime winky schools him. **** winky now is a 50-50 fight imo. williams was a bad style fight for winky always was. winky would walk martinez down and stop him late. jab jab left hand all night long for wink.

No he doesn't. I still favor Sergio due to his speed and power. Martinez is faster than anyone Winky has faced and hits harder as well. An argument can be made for Trinidad, but his lack of speed, combined with inactivity, resulted in him not being able to land on Wright when they fought. Outside of his Jab, he doesn't have the style to even bother Martinez, while Sergio is all wrong for Winky.

Nothing "wow" about that...Winky was a beast in his prime. You obviously never saw him in his "prime". He was most noted for his defence and his lack of KO power.

Completely agree. Martinez has no answer for someone not frustrated by his jab and off angle punches. Regardless, the guy gives it his all and finds a way to win...................like a true champion does!! :boxing:

Yup but there are so much variables in a fight, but yeah.... tight defense and straight punching at close quarters = problems for Martinez

Martinez is a sucker for jabs dude never saw a jab he didn't like and Winky had a great one. I think Winky wins a UD.

I think its very possible prime Wright beats Martinez. Stylistically he poses a lot of problems for Martinez. Wright was quite a good fighter once upon a time, and I think he would have beaten Martinez at 154. Not entirely sure about 160.
