Arum has been keeping him away from the really tough fights that have been offered on purpose, because he wants to see Cotto get the maximum amount of money (for both his and Cottos benefit) before he retires. This is Arums gameplan, and while you can tell Cotto doesn't love it, he's trusting Arum and knows it's the best move for him. that's the plan that all fighters have. that's what martinez is trying to do. that's why martinez hasn't bothered with pirog. anyone who tries to spin this against one fighter or another need to get them themselves a shrink. this ain't rocky; these are real prize fighters.
