...Does Marquez "deserve" one now?
What has Marquez proved to Arum and Pacquiao about his welterweight abilities that convinced them to make the fight?

It was TR/Pac's camp that wanted JMM as replacement for Mayweather, but GBP wanted OST and 50/50 for that fight as well (probably to keep Pac at the Mayweather negotiation table).
Then arum set up an in-house fight with Clottey... I think that was the beginning of the end for GBP and TR.
May I have a link for that , please? That would HAVE to be Dec 2009/Jan 2010.
Thanks in advance.
Please read what Pacquiao said . He said that he didn't believe fans are interested in a third fight.
When GBP made an offer, Manny didn't negotiate. He simply said "that's too high" and walked away.

You're going to believe what you want no matter what anybody says, so go ahead, and keep your agenda.
fukk biggie and fukk bad boys
and if you're down with them then fukkk u too
That is why I posted the BoxingScene articles. As fact.
Not opinions, FACT.
By the way, LOL @ "as a staff, company and record label..."
is this a serious question though? Marquez was offered the fight after the Mayweather fight failed to happen the first time in early 2010, and Schaeffer said that Pacquiao had to take OST against any GBP fighter, which included Marquez, thus the fight fell through. I believe money was also an issue.

He's older now and slower so he's not as risky as he was 2 yrs ago. It's always a timing thing with Pacquiao,if you look dangerous the fight wont be made
Serious question that I honestly don't know the answer to: wasn't Marquez with Golden Boy both times he fought Pac?
Who was Hatton signed with? Or Oscar?
Arum makes the deal.......Pac only says what lying Arum says to him. :D
You should know that by now.
From Pac's mouth:

Simple, Marquez was with Golden Girl promotions then.. Now Marquez split with the girls and the event is fully promoted by Top Rank..
Marquez knew that if he wanted a fight with Pac he would have to leave the Golden Girls.. Marquez was contracted with them since..

why don't you ask bob arum? I think just about everyone else would agree marquez did deserve a rematch.
I'm also thinking a lot of it had to do with the golden boy feud going on as well.
Personally, I think he should have fought him instead of Mosley, as shane proved to be a waste of time. Other than that, I had no problem with Pac fighting Oscar, Ricky, Cotto, Clottey & Margs.
Arum and Manny both stated that it was not a good fight . That Marquez was an unqualified welterweight.
So, what did JMM do at WW that subsequently qualified him for the fight?
That is a reasonable question....right?
