This is a reason why I dislike Floyd and his boasts of greatness... just think about it... (to be fair no fighter is very active in comparison...)
By age of 34 Floyd has fought 42 professional fights
By age of 34 Sugar Ray Robinson fought 145 professional fights
145! Amazing.
Floyd is not even fit to be on the same thread as the greatest fighter that ever lived, only thing they have in common is the alleged slapping of their women about.
SRR was a more skillful boxer, had murderous power, better footwork, faster hands, better chin all added to superhuman stamina, Floyd is a smaller man with a great defence non of his other attributes are in Robinson's class, Floyd would have been blown away inside of 5 rounds if they fought.
Probably even less time than that..... take that right cross May-Tards.

There is no difference in being 16 or 46 seeing as how neither of them would have seen Sugar Ray Robinson fight more then the 5 fights or so that are on youtube
Another juvenile statement, you see this is why you belong in NSB, BECAUSE YOU HAVE SEEN ONLY 5 OF HIS FIGHTS, does not mean that I haven't seen over a dozen full SRR fights, does it, you see I buy stuff, I'm not a nuthugger bludger that has only seen fights on Youtube FOR FREE. Many here have seen a LOT of SRR, but you show that you are so young you probably never saw a VCR................ lol........ you are such a joke.
impossible to compare the two records, there respective eras are so far apart and things had changed so much in Floyds day they might aswel be different sports, so difficult although Saul alverz is gona have an impresive number of fights on his resume by the time he turns 34
Different SPORTS ???????????..... lol
silly thread
That chump gay robinson woulda got pulverized by Floyd....those old school bums should be glad they came up back then. Most of them would be journey men today
You're a bum. So whadd'ya got to say about that YA BUM ?????
Robinson fought in a time were there was one title rather than today were there are multi titles and anybody could be a champion if you pay the fees. Today as evident in Floyds career you can pick and choose opponents carefully and still gather abc titles. Only in the nsb where 16 year old historians and experts are frequent, would somebody even suggest Mayweather would even come close to the level of a great like Robinson.

ok...
guilty. you got me
same thing happens with manny pacquiao
i go through my days on boxingscene typically being disgusted with the bulk of their fanbases. manny throwing shots wide open and floyd in a classic boxing pose usually.
home and work computers.
and yet when either of them have a fight upcoming;
boom i got my background on my computer as some glory shot of one or the other. manny throwing shots wide open and floyd in a classic boxing pose usually.
home and work computers.
and any casual fan who asks me about the fight will get an earful about how great they are. AN EARFUL.
like a schoolgirl
especially with floyd fights. it's the infrequency. the impending threat of a 12 month + layoff
gotta be a fan of these guys while i have the chance
cant let the other "fans" keep me away from that
oh yeah
and marquez and hopkins too. they don't really have fanboys. cotto in his pre-pacquiao round 4-5 (second knockdown, the one he didn't see that shook him real bad and changed the look on his face) days as well, when he was still willing to go out swinging
:lol1::lol1:

All due respect............ you're being stupid.
"To be fair, no fighter is very active in comparison". So, why are you singling out Mayweather, and claiming that THIS, of all reasons, is why you dislike him?
Basically, you're saying that you dislike every fighter doing it today, because by the time they're 34, they won't have 145 fights.
So, why are you on a boxing forum, if you dislike all boxers for not comparing to SRR?
Funny how many posters realised they were Floyd fans again when September 17th was announced.

Are you serious? Bigger talent pool, more experience, better trainers, better endurance.....
Not saying who would be who, but how great would it be if Floyd had 145 fights under his belt? I am sure the old guys would chuckle at how "often" these young super stars fight. If the old guys did it, why can't the young guys? Serious question.
before floyd-ortiz you were a neutral fan what happened after the fight?
you became a FLOMO again or what?
sucks man
flomo???hell naw..im just waiting on the point of this thread
