mine
1 robinson
2 armstrong
3 pep
4 grebb
5 duran
but there are about 20 other guys that u could argue to be on a top 5 list
the only name that cant be moved IMO is robinson
Calling me an idiot is a little harsh. Especially when I was joking. Oh well, you guys come off too feeble minded in here. I'm out. Never to return.
i was going to appoliges but never mind :waive:

I didn't read your posts.
Yeah I know your a good poster, but you were simply trashing Roy unfairly here.
Its cool man, no hard feelings.
sorry
i didnt think i was doing it that bad
just wanted to get to the guy who said he was top five
but forget it
ill give it up
ok
can we let this go
im sorry on my part if i got a little heated

In no particular order:
Monzon
Ali
Robinson
Hagler
Tyson
These are all guys from (very early) lifetime, I don't really know much about fighters before the 70s so it wouldn't fair to put them in my list based on history.
As you can see, I have a preference for fighters who totally dominated as champions who have all the tools...... Louis's reign is awesome, Wilde, Robinson, Leonard and Pep were virtually unbeatable in their prime and were still great long past it. I also have them there because they are arguably the greatest their pet division has seen........ NOTE : I said arguably.
Good post. Wilde was good but he didn't beat any big enough names for him to crack my top 15. Top 20 for me.
I posted my top 5 list in here and he wasn't on it, in fact he's not close to top 5. The guy that posted that list is an idiot, even so it doesn't mean you can talk **** about Roy.

if you think he is, than the majority of people who know thier **** would dissagree
i have no clue why u started with the insults
when u start insulting people and quesdtioning their credibilty it makes YOU look like u have nothing else to say
one fukkin question
do you think he is top 5???

Yeah because you can't reply, I understood the crap you were saying and responded, you probably lack reading comprehension or your stumped, I think its a combination of the two.

Yes and he was KO'ed at 35, that doesn't make him chinny.
LOL at a past it fighter being exposed by a fighter they had already beaten :lol1: You're on some serious crack. So by your logic Benny Leonard, Erik Morales, Ruben Olivares and Fighting Harada weren't great fighters?

Mine changes a lot at different times, sometimes I have Darcy there on ability and potential alone, but to play it safe doesn't appeal to me, you can almost replace anybody with another, except for Robinson,.... a P4P list without him is an extreme view at best..... So Today I'll name 5 "Worthies"....... but not in any order.... Robinson, Benny Leonard, PEP, Louis and Jimmy Wilde............ Wilde ???...... 134 - 4 - 2 & 100 KO's.... any questions ????
I really don't see how he's greater than Duran, Charles, Moore, Walker, Fitzsimmons, Langford or Greb. Honestly his resume is extremely thin in comparison to them, his skills aren't backed up by good enough opposition to warrant a top 20(let alone top 5) position in my book.

teh times he was ktfo
once he his reflexes slowed down and he was easier to hit he was pretty chiny
he is an atg and a great fighter but people overate him
he never faught and beat a prime skilled agressive swarmer/puncher to really show what he was made of

and a great fighteer shoudl atleast be somewhat close to as good as he was once he slows down if he has good technicals skills( which roy lacked). but right as roy got into his 30s and fought good fighters(tarver) he was exposed

I'm starting to think you don't have much sense, boxing wise. I'l leave your thread at that. Oh and to even confuse Benny Leonard and Sugar Ray is a literal boxing sin. Don't even think it. Leave your agenda at the door.
P.S. Jones wasn't overrated at all. Had he retired at the right time he would be considered top 10 atg easily.
u over rated him... u pput him no 1 and then u said if he retired at the right time he would have been top ten... but u put him at 1 :)

i say he is top 100 (towards the bottoM) but had he devleoped techinque he could have had a sucsefull late career and become top 5 or ten
dont go ratin roy jones no one an then say I dont have boxing sense
and i didnt confuse benny with ray
i wonted to know which leonard he was talking bout
its a reasonable question
and if u come at me with more bull **** im just gonna reply with bottles cause ur souniding kind of fussy like u need ur milk

I understood the poster meant Benny, but, in the context of the thread, he asked a legitimate question. Many people have been throwing in names that are very personal choices.
The top ten is an elite group, tough to crack. Very few fighters get in there "easily." As great as Roy once was, I don't think he gets in there --even if he never lost a fight. (Marciano never lost.) Jones's biggest problem is his resume, which many consider the single most important component to greatness.
