Cotto will definitely win probably the first 6 rds. Then margarito will bring on his forcefullness and run down cotto... His stamina will be the end of him... Cotto will gas out...comments???
Very possible, almost nobody can box around the ring like that for 12 rounds.
Cotto needs to stand toe to toe with Margarito a bit more this fight and instead of moving so much around the ring he should bob and weave, stand there and slip punches then clinch at times.
Cotto is my favorite fighter of this era, and Tony has the style to beat him. Everyone knows it's going to come down to how shot each fighter is.
They're both shot at this point, but Cotto might be less so. If he works on the right game plan and goes to the body, he might win this time around.
In all honesty, it would be great if Miguel just became enraged mid-fight and knocked Tony out through sheer willpower, but he's not that type of fighter.
Gatti off the top of my head.
I think Duran as well after Hearns. Not completely sure on this one though.
I see you're point though.
Just went through there Box rec.
Both guys fought soft opposition aka a tune-up right after losing there worst fights.
Unless you consider Thomas Damgaard a good fighter. Which I don't.
i think pac is a stronger puncher than cotto, with that said, margs was still coming foward vs pac......
the key for cotto to win this fight is to tie him up when he gets back against the ropes.
i didnt see him do this much or if at all in the first fight.
margs did take some damage in the first fight, i still think he wins pending the above and how his eye holds up.
Cotto never had stamina... Margarito definitely has the edge...
name a fighter who took such a one-sided beating and had a good performance vs a good fighter in his next fight?
Can you answer this question?
Margo's layoff combined with his beat down could play pivotal role in this fight.
Can someone name a fighter who took such a one-sided beating and had a good performance vs a good fighter in his next fight?
Besides tony taking everything cotto had to give, u must remember that he pretty much stalked him like a pimp looking for his hooker... If his chin holds up again then cotto will return to that night where he pretty much acknowledged that tony was his true father...

Both fighters know what happened in the first fight and will make adjustments.
I expect Cotto to come in with vastly improve stamina. Margarito for a change will put the pressure from the very start. IMO
This is going to be a good fight. Good luck to both men.
I think this fight will be different
In the first fight Cotto did great in the first half of the fight but he was moving too much, this time I think his game plan will be after he gets off his combinations he will tie up Margarito or come in close to smuther his punches! I think it will be a great fight either way!Cotto will definitely win probably the first 6 rds. Then margarito will bring on his forcefullness and run down cotto... His stamina will be the end of him... Cotto will gas out...comments???

Sound like you expect the exact same fight as last time.
Maybe. I think both men are not the same.
I think it goes 12.
I think Margo's strength will fail him after the 4th round like it did vs Pac.
That will allow this to become a slower paced fight with margo plotting and Cotto jabbing refusing to exchange.
Cotto wins a controversial MD.
Not sure it will follow the pattern of the first fight. Tony made Cotto fight for the whole fight last time and walked through Cotto's punches but I think a lot depends on how much of Margarito's punch resistance has diminished. Miguel had trouble keeping him off, but Margarito might be more hesitant this time.
I'm leaning towards a margarito win, but its a bit harder to pick this time.
