I read reports that Floyd initially refused to get on the HBO scales.
We already knew that Floyd was 149 pounds 30 days out. He also said several times during training camp that he was already on weight.
Does anybody know why Floyd initially refused the HBO fight-night weigh-in?
Thanks.

"Their trainer said I'm a dirty fighter," Mayweather began. "I've got to say, when have we ever known boxing to be a clean sport? It's a dirty sport. That's what it is. When you're trying to hurt an individual, how can it possibly be clean? You seen Victor's story. You know, about his mother leaving. I would never expose his hand and tell him I know the real truth, that his father didn't leave. But it's good for TV. No, his father didn't leave, and he went to high school in California. I've got to do my homework on individuals. I know he's got a problem making weight. I'm at weight right now. I feel good, feel strong, I walk around at 147.
"So come Saturday, it's gonna be the same Floyd Mayweather, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the same Victor Ortiz. But the difference between me and you is, I can adjust. I'm versatile. I get hit with a good shot, no problem, I shake it right off. I'm still coming at you. I'm a good finisher, too. So your trainer talked about being dirty -- so when I hurt you, don't grab me, don't hold on at all. I'm gonna finish you off. Easy.
Anyone know if thats true or is floyd ****ing with him?And agreed with the poster who said Floyd does things on his own terms
Floyd hit the sclaes for every single fight. Then he fought Oscar and Oscar wouldnt so Floyd also wouldnt. Then the next fight was Hatton and he had some beef with the HBO crews and wouldnt let them in the dressing room to weigh him. They said it before the fight and ever since he hasnt. I think it was just a routine for him that he was hesitant to break but probably wanted to show people that he's not a huge guy like people tried to make him seem against JMM & Mosley
He declined to do so before the JMM fight as well I wonder why?
people (well, not people, pacturds) were speculating that it was because Floyd weighed 165 for Marquez. Ha.
Floyd was 150 for Oscar...and 150 for Ortiz. I guess that tells us what he has been all along.

because he does what he wants.
This is it. It's really that simple. Same reason he routinely tells HBO's crew to wait on him when they start signaling him to walk to the ring. EVERYTHING is on his terms ALL the time. He's obnoxious but at the same time he's the fcuking man.
because the scales don't know sh!t about boxing

probably because he doesnt want his opponent knowing his weight. why would he?
That makes no sense, though.
Hw was 149 30 days before the fight. He was 149 seven days before the fight. He weighed in at 146.5. And he was bragging that he was already on weight for weeks.
In fact, if you watch the pre-fight presser, he was teasing Ortiz about Ortiz having problems making weight.
Remember how PBF said repeatedly that he walks around at 147-150?
So, there was no mystery. At all.

I think he didn't want Ortiz to know. Just like Floyd doesn't like people to see him sparring I think he likes to keep the other fighter and there team guessning. Who knows? Maybe he was just giving them a hard time becasue he can? Maybe he's really getting tired of HBO? IMO it's just a mental thing to not allow anyone else to know his weight.
