Hah, apparently anyone could use the coupon code "HERO" and get the same discount as the military and police. $100 tickets for $65 and $50 seats for $35.
Dibella is one of the worst at seat pricing of all promoters, so this 30% discount would probably put the cheapest seats from $50 to 35. $50 are the price to the cheapest seats to fights involving Mayweather and Pacquiao, but $50 is the minimum to even his local shows, where there are no Championship level fighters.
He underestimates the amount of hardcore and casual boxing fans that would go to a fight card if the pricing is affordable; his pricing just turns people off. $50 is a night at the movies with your girl and you'll have $5-10 leftover, he's charging $50 for local/ballroom fights.
Local fight cards should be $25 or even less and when he's getting HBO licensing fee, he can afford to put the cheap seats at a price where he evens out. Because of promoters like him the sport is where it's at. Here you have the best product, but the worst management of it.
This is part of the reason why his fighters can't draw flies to sh!t.
This is exactly why he needs to fight someone like Chavez Jr in LA, not another Eastern European with a foreign sounding name like Dmitry Pirog. He needs exposure to gain some fans. Nothing Dibella can do make an Argentinian a ticket seller in the US unless it turns out he's secretly half Mexican or Cuban.
this is what separates promoters from glorified bookies...
go to town lou, go to town... martinez ain't a seller, and never will be...
Specially if Poochiao, Duckweather, Cotto and JR. duck him forever
Why is Dibella offering the discount? He doesn't promote Ward or Froch. I would have expected this to be Eddie Hearn's doing since he promotes Froch and Barker.
