Hi Im new. I think jmm having a nutritionist with him is great and will help a great deal with gaining muscle and speed for his fight. with the correct supplements (excluding piss) JMM may become a beast
If Pac can find Marquez's chin like he did in round 1 of the first fight, Marquez will get Hattoned
jmm is a slow starter up to this point.. forget the ramos fiasco..
I agree 100% and I've shared the same sentiments.
The last time he was above 135, he didn't look good, that's the point. Or do you not remember that?
who looks good against pbf?
Im hoping that Mayweathers skill was the only reason Marquez looked so bad above 140
Hopefully we see another competitive fight
I had Marquez winning the first 2 battles barely
I'm with Deevel on this one.
I really think people are underestimating Márquez's chances.
I am aware that he is nearly four years removed of his dramatic rematch with Pacquiao and that, while both fighters have looked impressive since then, Pacquiao has looked better. I am also aware that the catchweight favors Pacquiao because he doesn't have to starve himself ever since officially moving to the 147 division.
Let's consider a few basic points:
#1: Márquez's technique
Cotto (who has so-so boxing skills) was able to give Pacquiao fits. Cotto tried to go toe-to-toe and paid dearly for it. Interesting to note that he OFFICIALLY won round 10 on TWO of the judges' scorecard (when he was taking a beating by then). Márquez is a fighter who has better boxing and counter-punching skills than Cotto and De la Hoya (who we all expected to give Pacquiao fits). Which brings me to my next point...
#2: Opponent pattern
Who has Pacquiao faced since Miguel Cotto as a legitimate threat? He has fought people who didn't deserve fights with him based on recent outings nor had the style to beat him. Clottey is too defensive-minded, Margarito is a walking punching bag (but bless his heart for coming to fight and never quitting), and Shane was clearly past it (if Mora wasn't enough, his fight with Pacquiao clearly showed it). Clottey nor Shane showed up to fight nor were given much of a chance to win. Margarito, while trying his damndest to win, was never really in the fight and many ridiculed the match as soon as it was announced. Pacquiao, since November 2009, hasn't fought an opponent who's hungry, technically sound, and has power like Márquez. Because of this two year hiatus, Pacquiao may have stagnated a little and Márquez may be able to capitalize on that.
#3: Counter-punching uppercuts
Pacquiao is an all-time great already, he's been so for a while now. He has power, he has speed, he has defense, he has a lot of things. Nevertheless, that's not to say he's perfect in all these areas. Pacquiao is not very hard to hit. One of the HBO commentators (either Lampley or Kellerman) pointed out, "Pacquiao's not very hard to hit, the question is, 'How many times is he going to hit YOU?'"
Pacquiao's style lends itself to Márquez's specialty, counter-punching. Not only that, but Márquez's best punch is the one that Pacquiao gets hit with a lot, the uppercut. Furthermore, when Márquez throws counterpunches, he throws them in combinations...he excels in all three areas: uppercuts, counter-punching, combinations. This happens constantly. Even if Pacquiao manages to hurt or knock Márquez down, expect furious exchanges between the two because Márquez will always fight back and get his shots in as well.
It's not to say Márquez will undeniably win the fight. Pacquiao should without a doubt be the favorite. I just don't see why people are looking at this fight and saying, "This is a gimme fight for Pacquiao."
I've said this a million times on these boards and I stick by it. I just have a feeling Márquez is going to offer some resistance (like Margarito) but with a style that will actually make Pacquiao fight harder than he's had to fight since perhaps either Cotto from the first four rounds or Márquez way back in 2008.
I hope for a action packed fight, hope they both bring their A game and give us a great fight

it will be greater than JMM vs PBF. lol
but not as great as the previous 2.
anyway it is a money fight. if JMM take an upset it there will be no more PBF vs
Pac how sad. and it will be JMM vs PBF 2 and much worse than the 1st. lol
How would he be blown up if he will be the same weight on fight night that he's been for his first 2 meetings with Pac?
I'm sure it's a sarcastic quote he took from Mayweather haters when he didn't put Marquez away when they fought.
Man, that sounds so familiar.
So what does it mean if Manny has a war with an old, blown up fighter?
How would he be blown up if he will be the same weight on fight night that he's been for his first 2 meetings with Pac?
That's inevitable, he'll need to put some muscle mass on, he's not fighting Katsidis again, he's fighting PACQUIAO!..he's gonna get hit, and if he's not fit, he's gonna get put away really soon..
I just think this rematch had much better meaning had it taken place at 140lbs, since Roach always calls Pacquaio a tiny Welterweight, JWW should have been no problem at all, but Pacquiao at 144lbs or more is a MACHINE, and JMM not so much, and I'm sure it's the advantage they wanted and needed.
Honestly I see no real difference if the fight was held at 140 or 144. Pac will still weigh his usual 146lbs while JMM will weigh his usual 143 or so.
This is why i'm not a fan of the current weigh in process and think they should go back to same day weigh ins. Aside for a handful of fighters, every other fighter with the exception of HW's are starving and dehydrating themselves in order to manipulate their weight class.
For Pac, he is in a no win situation against JMM. If he doesnt fight him, the critics will say Pac ducked the man who gave him hell twice and how both fights were contraversial. If he fights him, they will say how JMM is past it and had no chance against Pac.
I will watch because i'm a boxing fan and know for a fact that this will be an epic war!

JMM doesnt have to put on MASS to weigh 144. He just needs to train as he usually would for a 135lb fight and come in at 141-142 like he usually does.

Sensational sheees , anything to do with the opponents you think, is Rocky Mannys level , I think JMM showed he is not close , this is exactly what hype is , its selling a big fight by selecting the right show my guy great build up fights , thats what promoters do .
WTF? I must say, this has to be the most confusing post I have ever read on bscene! LMAO!
If you look up at my post, you'll see that I added the fact that Floyd is just an overall better boxer along with having a size advantage for that fight. JMM admitted that he made a mistake trying to bulk up for Floyd and how he will not make that mistake again this time around against Pac.
And none of that will make a difference, at all.
For his first 2 fights with Pac, he weighed MORE than 135 and yet you flomos claim he beat Pac both times.
He weighed 146lbs for his fight with Katsidis and looked sensational. He didnt look good against Floyd because styles make fights along with Floyd having a signifigant size advantage that night.

For one, don't group me with a bunch of other people. You don't know what I claim. And weighing one thing night and at the actual weigh in something different dude. But besides that, he was fighting FREAKING MIKE KATSIDIS. LOL. In a fight where he was floored and got hit with a lot of shots. So, please cut it out.
What did the size advantage have to do with Mayweather's style?
