In an interview with Carlos Irusta of the Boxing Scene, Martinez had this to say:
"I am willing to go down to the 150-pounds to face Manny Pacquiao. It does not depend only on me. We will see what happens, if his team and Bob Arum accept . Because it's one thing is to fight Antonio Margarito at 150, and another thing to face me at 150," said Martinez during an interview with BoxingScene.com's Carlos Irusta.
"It would be below the junior middleweight limit of 154 lbs . 150-pounds is 68 kilos. It's an incredible effort for my body. I walk around at 78 or 79 kilos, with a maximum of 3.2% body fat. I have very little body fat and I'm very muscular. To go down to that weight can be fatal for my health. But it can be done. With enough time, I think it's possible to do. What's better than saying, 'we'll fight you anywhere you want, the date you want and the weight you want.'
"He always said 150, and I respect his position, because he is a little fighter even at 150. But it's going to play to his advantage because I'll be almost ten kilos lighter in my body. "

why is it acceptable for manny to fight sergio at 150 but people say may has to fight him at 154?
martinez just said today he'd fight both may and pac at 150. either fight, i think sergio would be making a mistake going that low in weight, but if he feels he's capable of doing it, then there's nothing more to be said. i'd rather see him try to unify 160 then fight these two guys but hey, sergio wants to get paid, can't blame him.
Then why offer it you eager beaver? I thought you were a blown-up welter?
If you walk around ~170lbs and only have 3.2% body fat, doesn't that means you could fight at super-middle?
SMW's walk around in the mid-180s

Who says Martinez necessarily wouldn't although why would Floyd fight De La Hoya at 154 and not Martinez?

sergio already made his excuses after he lost to pac
martinez: "im weight drained by pac"
COOL! then whats the point of this fight?
this
my exact thought when i 1st read the article
i am no longer interested in this match-up if hes gona b spewing excuses b4 the idea is even mainstream ....
sound like he wants the pay-day more than anything
Martinez is desperate lol, he should move up to 168
He is 36, wants to be P4P #1, Manny and Floyd are considered the top 2 P4P, and that is where the money is. His backup plan is to try and unify all the belts at 160.
Bute, Ward, Froch, etc. don't offer all of that.
if they fight it should be @ 154. but Steroidgio needs to take the test.

What excuse will Floyd come up with for not fighting Martinez?
Floydiots are now afraid that even Pacman might be the first guy kill Sergio. If this happen, then Floyd has no other chance to finish his "legacy" unless he fights Pacman. But what if Pacman declines to fight because he's retiring? So Floyd's career will be doomed forever. No wonder his Floyd's slaves do their best to discredit and/or appeal for the fight to happen.

No fighter is at 3,2% BF.

flomos keep denying that sergio prefers floyd over pac. "pac is too small for me, floyd and i will have a great fight."
pac's response: i'll fight sergio at 150"
floyd's response: none, nada, zero....... fighthype.com and flomos don't even bother to ask him about sergio.

"Arum, who says Pacquiao will retire after a final fight in the Philippines in November 2013, says he already has a list of opponents for Pacquiao to face. At the top is junior welterweight titleholder Timothy Bradley, followed bywelterweight Mike Jones and lightweight Brandon Rios."
top rank fighters......
And just to further my point...Roaches said he could give a sh!t what Marg re hydrates to, there's a reason for that bcuz if there wasn't the Cotto and Oscar would have been allowed to too!!
Serg would outweigh Pac my 15lbs+ but if they didn't care with Marg there shouldnt be a problem with Serg.
With that said...I hope Floyd fights Serg first at the full 154 limit...I really don't think anybody from 154 and down can fu*k with Floyd!!!
i was starting to think you may have valid points but you fail. there never was a re-hydration clause against cotto and oscar. whoever thinks this is just fukkin dumb.

whats funny is how the flomos complain saying the pacman vs jmm shouldhave been at 140 not 144. 4lbs is to much for marquez yet they say martinez is not to big for manny LOL!! lets see on fight night there will be close to a 20lbs difference.
It has nothing to do with size, pac has already proven that with Marg...its that Serg is a lot better than Marg now. It's the classic...ur not De la hoya when Shane asked why he would have to weigh 142 but Oscar weighed 147.
Same thing with Marg...they knew exactly where Marg would be all nite(right in front of Pac blocking with his face)...that isn't the case with Serg, he can move and punch.
There's a reason why Team Pac let's the stationary fighters re hydrate( Clotty, Marg) even tho their huge, but put restrictions on Boxer punchers like Shane(when he was champ), Cotto, Oscar, and Serg(if it ever happens).
Not bashing but the pattern is clear as day...
