The outrage and controversy that surrounds the outcome of the fight is more about race than it is about the fight. Historically the media (white media and a significant % of whites) has always had a difficult time or flat out refuses to accept a Black man who is outspoken and proud. America like's its' Negroes to be submissive and docile. Americans actually were threatened by Martin Luther King and let’s not forget how much white America really felt about Muhammad Ali.
Now that we have the backdrop let’s fast forward to this fight. People are calling this a controversy and at the same time stating that Mayweather did nothing wrong. ?????????? Wow so the Black guy has to reach some sort of extra standards that are only visible to white people. Instead of evaluating the situation honestly – ORTIZ WAS LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT!!!!!! Ortiz wanted to quit like he did against Maidana stating “he didn’t deserve to get it like this”. Any boxer who jumps like he’s going for a rebound to head butt his opponent because he’s desperate is looking for a way out. Instead of questioning Ortiz’ toughness – he clearing could have gotten up because it was a knockdown punch not a knockout punch. Ortiz has no heart. By the way America didn’t and doesn’t care about Ortiz they will cheer and support anyone who can beat that Negro.

They will cheer and support anyone who can beat that TOOL.
People didn't hate on Leonard, Hagler, Trinidad.
Why Floyd??Because of his behaviour.
Why do think he is a "TOOL"? People thought Ali's behavior was outrageous. Put it this way I think when it comes to our jobs we all want to be judged based on our performance in the office and not what we do off duty. And keep in mind the fighters you mentioned were not outspoken. I appreciate your view bro.

I don't actually get what you're trying to say

joe calzaghie :haha:
be serious, Calzaghe is a humble cat, he's not loud either, reticent if anything
Just think about the silly explanation that you just gave. Ortiz gets hit by his opponent, then immediately looks to the ref for confirmation that the fight is on(nevermind the fact the ref had already resumed the fight). You people keep crying about Cortez not doing his job properly as the ref, but where's the criticism for Ortiz not doing his job as a pro prize fighter? Fighting within the rules is part of his job, and so is protecting himself at all times. I see nothing but excuses/passes for Ortiz, and it's all his fault.
I'll criticise Ortiz too, he should not have have headbutted Mayweather and he should've put his hands up after being hit.
cortez said "lets go" meaning the fight has timed in.......ortiz is just mentally weak & was still thinking about the point he'd just had taken..............the ref did more then his job.
The ref wasn't looking at the fighters, in anyone's language, that's not doing his job. In fact, it's negligent.

Why isn't anyone criticizing Ortiz? He's the one who didn't do his job.
what mayweather did wrong was he took away the rest of the fight......... thats what he did.....
if all his fans are happy with that outcome, the way he garnered his win, then fine, but for those who wanted to see boxing and see the fight unfold organically, floyd ruined that from ever happening.....
i would be impressed if floyd got the ko when ortiz was paying attention and or had his guard up ready to fight, not looking to see what in the hell floyd tasted like with his kisses, and not waiting for joe cortez to stop looking at pdiddy in the crowd, looking for maybe an autograph........
it's sad that the issue gets brought up about mayweather, he's not the issue, just a small part, the big issue is ortiz and cortez.........
Mayweather didn't take anything away from the game. He beat his opponent, plain and simple. I know people like to see two men beat each other to a pulp for the entire fight but Ortiz didn't hold up his end of the bargain. If the other guy doesn't want to fight how can and why should Mayweather stop boxing.
Does anyone think Ortiz was looking for an exit, like he did against Maidana? I think that's another post :) let's keep to this topic.
When Floyd through the first shot Ortiz was looking,Ortiz should have put his hands up after that, instead he looks at Cortez and gets clocked with a straight right.
You have to ask why he looked at Cortez. He was clearly looking for some kind of confirmation that the fight was back on but Cortez wasn't doing his job, he wasn't refereeing, he wasn't even looking.
race issues pertaining to this fight argument are pathetic to say the least....... those who bring up race issues are under the SLAVE MENTALITY.....
get out of it, wake the fvck up, and be your own damn man.......
this is how you sum up this fight....... it was a FIX! you got two set up guys and a fall guy........ mayweather and cortez were the set up guys and ortiz was the fall guy........
all the professionalism inside that ring, with all the years of experience, and that is the out come we got!?!?! unprofessionalism and confusion, and a WIDE OPEN CHIN!!!! with the ref not looking!?!? WTF!?!?
and now any comment about floyd being a dikchead opportunist that robbed us of the fight continuing... is now racist!?!?!
if thats the case then i must be a grand wizard clansmen for all the criticizing i've done of floyd over the years.............. which has absolutely nothing to do with his race............
but i must be the crazy racist is with a black and filipino child then........ gtfohwtws!!!
This isn't about the critique or analysis of a boxer/athlete's performance but the way the media viewed an actions that was totally within the realms of the sport. What Mayweather did was not illegal but he's being vilified as if he did. Thanks
Bro, that is the question. What exactly did Mayweather do wrong? What actions are you referring to?

If Floyd is white with that kind of attitude....he will be reviled.
I'm trying to think of a white fighter who acts like Floyd, I can't think of one.
Paulie Malignaggi maybe? he is disliked by a lot of people too.
If Floyd is white with that kind of attitude....he will be reviled.
What type of attitude and is there an example of a extremely talented high profile white athlete that the media goes after? Thanks for your comment bro
great post. i agree its more about floyd being hated rather than race. its frustrating when people go straight to race card & choose to ignore floyd's actions that lead to him being hated.
joe, vic, & floyd are to blame.
personally, i wouldve rather seen the fight go on so we can see floyd put on a show... but apparently, people here are content with being robbed from seeing a good fight.
Bro, that is the question. What exactly did Mayweather do wrong? What actions are you referring to?
stop playing victim..cause alot of blacks were saying Mayweather knocked that sp!c the fuk out!!!! and other racial slurs..Its not right that blacks play victim when they are the most racist b@stards out there :bottle:
I think you obviously misunderstood the entire point of the initial post. No one is crying or complaining this is a mature conversation about a topic that's a lot bigger than a boxing match. Now you can either open your mind, if you would like to make this country a better place. Or just keep your immature comments to yourself.

i only have 1 thought. Give me a ****ing break.
You're full of it. Ortiz was looking right at Mayweather when Mayweather hit him with the 1st left hand. He didn't look away until he got hit. There was nothing unsportsmanlike from Mayweather. The fight had resumed and Mayweather was ready to fight instead of hugging and kissing. The intentional headbutts were unsportsmanlike, not the legal punches. The only person who deserves blame is Ortiz.
I'm with you on that, that's why I say he wanted to find a way out.
Exactly the opposite is true. :nonono:
If Ortiz would have sucker-punched Mayweather and knocked him out like that, I shudder to think how much b1tching and crying there would be about it! :bottle:
The media nearly always sides with African-American athletes, whether they are right or wrong, and they show MUCH less respect for Hispanic and White athletes.
People in the US media have been going on and on about the headbutt from Ortiz. But they say little or nothing about Andre Ward's blatently deliberate headbutts, including the one that ended the fight with Mikkel Kessler!
And the HBO commentators didn't even mention the headbutt from Andre Berto that cut Dejan Zaveck.
That's for your post bro; but I don't see much evidence that the media sides with blacks a majority of the time. But beyond that the media should simply be fair and equal.
Its impossible to put it any better then you did.If Floyd lost these clowns would have been making threads about how "blacks fighters are falling" and jumping for joy. These clowns are just jealous mad that fighters of their race suck Gremlin balls.
Thank you bro!! I appreciate the input.
