I don't really have a "secret" fighter but I do like some boxers which will never be great boxers:
- Paulie Malignaggi; and
- Michael Katsidis
I like Malignaggi as a boxer because he's Top Class in trash talking. His interviews are hilarious. He always gives 100% and he doesn't talk a lot of shit either - he makes sense a lot of the time. You can never take him really seriously. He will always be a B Class fighter at best (and that's really skimming the line) but you've got to admire him.
Meanwhile, I like Michael Katsidis for always coming to fight. It just seems as though he takes a lot of punishment that he doesn't need to. Personally, I think he needs a new trainer. I wouldn't say he's completely a lost cause, but he definitely needs changes.
No I don't have any secrets though I am a big fan of Sergio as well as Barker & kind of torn between the two. Something really deep down wants me to go with the underdog.
I was pleased to see the odds have come closer though :)
I don't especially keep it a secret, but people are always surprised when I tell them I'm a fan of Antonio Tarver.
"You got any excuses tonight, Roy?": one of the coolest moments in boxing history.
i became an Antonio fan after he sonned green, that was a good fight

i secretly like floyd, when he got hit with the ortiz right hook in the fourth that had him falling back into the ropes and too messed up in the head to shoulder roll so just put his hands up, in my head i was thinkin "nooo, you fukker dont lose!"
then he took that cheap shot, i was sad because the fight was getting good, but i blame ortiz more for it, he's definitely a little dumb that kid, overdoing it with the kissing and hugging and apologizing..
