If his head is in it...
Ortiz is officially the new Judah. Right when we lost the old Judah.
I think he is better then Judah - Judah is faster and probably has a bit more pop - but Ortiz has better balance, more boxing technique and also more stamina...
We have to see what this fight did for his psyche... but to tell you the truth - in Khan-Ortiz I would give him a good chance of beating Khan... he is physically stronger and if his head is into this... I think Khan would really have to fight almost perfect from distance... Ortiz can get in and out... Khan is no defensive wonder... and I don't know if Khan hits hard enough at 147... only as an example - I can imagine that Ortiz can beat some good guys... but for the real top... the real big boys I don't think he will - the mentality...
yeah, i think he will. he should just continue fighting WWs and eventually he'll build his own name up. with gbp's backing, he should be a big name once floyd and manny leave.
I think he can... I mean Ortiz if his head is in it is pretty hard to handle for most - I mean not every fighter is defensively as good as Mayweather... and most would have gotten caught with something that Mayweather ain't...
With Ortiz I think it is about if he can hurt someone - if a fighter like Berto for example feels his power and gives him some respect he can beat a lot of fighters... but when the going gets tough and someone can take his shot and brings it too him he probably will search for a way out... he is still young... so a few wins a rematch with Berto where he knows he can beat him and probably will... he is simply to balanced and Berto is defensively too leaky... and we will see...

he's zab judah with a much worse resume but a much more likeable personality. he will get plenty of chances and we are gonna see him beaten up many times in the years to come.
I like Ortiz but he was dirty, and blew his top off at the sign of things not going his way.
There are still a lot of fights out there for him though, Alvarez and Khan fights would be fights that would draw.
Ortiz is a brainless monkey. The guy is flat out DUMB. I mean this guy is borderline mentally retarded.
Even after he lost, he just had a big vacant dumb smile on his face.
He was probably concussed as usually if somebody clocks him *smile*
At such a young age, has Ortiz's career seen its best days?
Will he ever make it back to the big stage again...w/o the help of Pacquiao?

It is pretty wild that somehow he comes out of this as the victim when he did the worst headbutt I've ever seen live. He should have gotten a two point deduction. And then his bazaar kissing/hugging apology and being all smiles at the end of the fight, give me no interest in seeing him in the ring again. The fact that Floyd cold cocked him shouldn't mean that somehow he should be absolved of his wrongdoing.

Would you want to piss him off?
Ortiz reminds me of what Cus Damato used to preach..." control the fire!"

I think he can make his way up, he's still young, 24, can't say he's at his peak yet. Rematch Berto and if he wins, guess what? He's the 3rd best welter all over again. I know Devon is moving up, we'll see how that goes. Jones is another name in the division that we seem to forget about for whatever reason, I'd welcome that fight. And Mosley is still out there looking for an opponent. He could fight Zaveck too.
He'll be okay after Floyd and pacquiao leave the divison. Then I can see him and berto having a big rematch down the road if they end up ontop the division cause its that week and I kinda see it being like a bhop Roy thing but no where near the hatred or skill level lol
I'm sure he gets back on his feet, and hopefully does well. I kind of like Ortiz, though it does seem he is rather weak on the mental aspect of fighting. Hopefully this fight made him stronger.
He had his chances. Everyone considered him the next Golden Boy. Then another chance when he fought Berto and people claimed he deserve to fight Pacquiao/Mayweather.
Not all fighters even get the first chance.
The guy is going to be back and even stronger.
I never seen a humble fighter like him before, especially after someone sucker punchs him.
Ortiz gained a lot of new boxing fans this past Saturday.
His mentality is not broken by the shame that Floyd brought upon him, nor the damage from the punch. Ortiz is strong mentaly and that will put him back on top.
