In the streets (non sports) a sucker punch might be from behind or even when you and the person are talking the issue out and they just all of a sudden hit you, but Ortiz is clearly in a fight.....
That is idiotic.
So, Floyd needs to announce his punches now?
You are in a boxing ring. Wearing shorts. The ref says "time in". You have an angry man in front of you.
Guess what?
lol, Childishness going on here....
I like how u specifically chose that HALF of the sentence to refute when there was more to it that specified my point.... If you're gonna refute things, at least refute the entire sentence
I guess, just becuz I don't trust that you're going to go back and check, I'll just repeat it here.... the full quote was "A sucker punch is when you're not aware the punch is coming, in the sense that your attention is diverted"
Refute that, I dare you
yes - i agree 100%. i also reluctantly agree with cortez - although he did take his eye off the fight for a second, which i GUESS could cause confusion in one of the boxers, ortiz shouldn't have taken his eye off floyd. . . he clearly said "lets go"! or something along those lines, and then ortiz wanted to keep playing buddy-buddy after one of the most blatant, intentional fouls ive seen in recent fights.
This is a very good post, and say's it all...
Ortiz was probably about knocked out from the first punch, he did the same exact thing to Mosley and it didn't effect him like it did Ortiz. Guess Mosley had a better jaw.
Maybe Ortiz Chin is questionable, aside with Mosley, I also saw Floyd did something like that to Gatti, okey I think Arturo also went down (not sure) but I am sure that punch did not finish Gatti...
it's just beyond me how you dont see it as a cheap shot. ok mayweather won and am ok with that because he did nothing illegal according to the rules.
but to support the fact that it wasnt a cheap shot is just bewildering.
If you are the ATG beat him in the ring, you were dominating the fight why not just outclass the kid.
you are the older wiser more experience fighter take the high road accept the point deducted and keep whooping ass......
CLASSLESS ACT BY MAYWEATHER.
PS
they are also lots of unwritten rules in boxing, fighters will know what i am talking about......
I totally agree with your post. Just because something is 'legal' it means its right? Thats crazy.
I just wonder what these flomo's would be saying if Vic had sustained a serious injury from that shot.
It really is hard for me to understand why floyd did that. He was putting on a masterclass and chose to end the fight in such a ****ty way. I will be glad when this guy finally retires and takes his circus act with him.
You are a fool If you get sucker punch from the front, I always kept my opponents a few feet away and never felt the need to talk and argue that close to someones face. And if I do I have my guard already up.
lol I posted the definition kid and I'm a fool? funny. I post the definition is all, take what you want from it.

That is true but what did you guys expect, you know Mayweather doesn't aim to please the crowd, if im surprised at anyone it's Ortiz, I never thought he had a dirty bone in him.
Mayweather was just being the villian like always. Ortiz took on a new character.

"A sucker punch is a blow made without warning, allowing no time for preparation or defense on the part of the recipient. It is usually delivered from close range or from behind."

A sucker punch is when you're not aware the punch is coming, in the sense that you're attention was diverted. Ortiz came in for the hug, Floyd accepted the hug, but gave Ortiz no time to set himself up....
But the second punch was legit. After getting the first punch, you'd think he'd put his hands up then

I agree bro..Only people who don't are May haters...
I'm not a pro fighter or anything, but anytime I ever been in a fight and we start to talk in the middle I always keep my guard up, you would think that a pro fighter would surely know better.
A fighters guard should always stay up when your opponent is within striking distance
