The outcry is just a bit over the top. I keep hearing people chime in saying how it was disgraceful and disgusting. Really?? When it first happened, all I said was "Ortiz is a fkn idiot!" Did Floyd capatalize on the situation? Sure he did. Was it illegal? NO! I was just dissapointed at the way it ended. We've all been worked up for this fight for 3-4 months, only for it to end the way it did. I somehow feel that Floyd isnt happy with the way it ended either due to the fact that he's not going to get credit for the way the KO came about.
cheap shot imo. but it was legal. ortiz shouldnt have nutted him. concerns i had was the fact that the ref wasnt even looking when mayweather landed the first punch, for all that corrupt bastard knew mayweather could have just kicked ortiz in the balls. and second, if i was mayweather i would probably have done the same thing, but that does not excuse the fact that it was a sucker punch. ortiz hadnt even got his hands up after the embrace. sure thats ortiz' fault aswell but its not very sporting.
doesnt joe corrupt cortez always say keep the fight clean, i dont wanna see any unsportsman like conduct at the start of fights or something like that?!!!
It was a sucker punch but Ortiz deserved it...
Floyd knew what he was doing...Ortiz shudda had his hands up...can't always look for the ref to help you out...
Like Lampley said, it won't win Floyd any new fans but why should he care...he made $25 million and he barely broke a sweat...
Once again, I'm just pissed off that we the fans were robbed of what was shaping up to be a good fight. Both fighters were starting to let their hands go and it was about to get real interesting.
Props to you. I wish there were more Pac fans like you. Ortiz should've read Floyd's body language, and should've been aware that he wasn't going let him slide like Floyd let Judah slide. He had his guard when Ortiz tried to hugged him, and he did what any wise Boxer would do. Was it very unsportsmanlike? ABSOLUTELY. Should Floyd be discredited for Ortiz's lacks of awareness and common sense? Absolutely not.
I agree. I believe Ortiz was to blame because he inititated a dirty fight and he was caught slippin. It was completely legal, but to complain about why Floyd haters are so upset about it is kinda dumb. Fact is, Flomos WOULD be extemely upset if the shoe was on the other foot. They act like that was completely ok and there was nothing unethical about it. But they just saying that because the outcome came out in Floyd's favor.
If Floyd let his guard down and got caught out there, what would be their defense? Who the fk told Ortiz to go hug Floyd then forget he was in a fight??

yep, flomos gonna nuthug, FMJ could take a crap on their own mother and most of them would defend it, it's not healthy.
Look. Everyone here can tell you that I cant stand Floyd the person. If he did something really f'd up, i'd be the first to call him out on it. Truth is, Ortiz let his guard down and Floyd jumped on the opportunity to land the quick 1-2. He did it to both Gatti and Mosley.

If Victor did that to Floyd, causing Floyd to lose his first fight, Flomos would be calling foul. True story.
Or lemme guess, they'd accept it as a legit move and congratulate Victor for a job well done?
who cares? theyd be wrong too. u dont headbutt and then think **** is cool. idc who the fighter is, u do something blatantly illegal, i will never fault the other guy for retaliating. thats what *****es do. smack u, say sorry and expect u not to hit back. fukkouttahere.

it's the new "fans" of the sport. they believe every boxer should behave like manny pacquiao. they're fixated on that pacquiao-clottey/mosley lovefest.
You dont headbutt your opponent, bust his lip up, then expect him to embrace your hugs without retaliating. WTF was on Ortiz's mind? Had he did it, took his point deduction and said "fk it, its a fight", he would have been better off.
What I did notice is, Floyd was VERY uncomfortable with that cut. Even after the fight was over, he seemed freaked out by it. Could that be the key to throwing him off his game? Hmmmm......

Completely agree. If it were the other way round, it would be upset/knockout of the century.

wow...to hear u saying that is shocking. but the truth nontheless. we lost a good fight. but thats all i think happened. ortiz still lost to a better fighter. i think floyd could have done it better tho, but he was clearly superior.
