Heres the other part as well. Seems that he is joining Donaire and feels the same way.
Andre Ward: Ortiz should know by now to protect himself at all times. But Floyd shouldnt need to do that if he claims he's the best.
I dont always like his style (at least for the casual fans) or his headbutts either but I do feel he represents the sport quite well outside of the ring. Its a shame we never got to see him fight Direll.
The funny sh!t is that Andre Ward claims that he wants to be seen as the best, but in the Ward/Bika bout Bika repeatedly got dirty, and Andre Ward returned EVERY dirty shot to let Bika know that he's not going to stand for that and will give as good as he gets.
Bika was dirty but Ward shouldn't need to retaliate with illegal shots if he claims he wants to be recognized as one of, if not thee best, boxers active today.
Hypocrisy at its best, people.
lol not me. All I did was post what he said and said I liked how he is outside of the sport.
i would honestly agree with this if it wasnt for the foul before the incident. that foul was hard. floyd got his revenge. ruined the fight, but it is what it is. floyd didnt need to do it and normally he shouldnt have to, but i understand why he wanted to.
Nah...Floyd hit him because he is a sadist. What was the excuse when he sucker punched Gatti? Gatti wasn't even grazing Floyd let alone hitting him with his punches(much less trying to foul him), but Floyd still managed to sucker punch him....Floyd's past behavior shows he will sucker punch you if he can because he has no sporstmanship.

Im very surprised by these comments considering they are supposedly good friends and I saw Floyd call Ward in the dressing room before one of his biggest fights. I dont think he had to say that but I give him props for saying what he believes, I guess. Still, kinda seems like youre throwing your friend under the bus
without sportsmanship, boxing is no better than training two animals to fight each other. It takes the humanity out of the sport... that's why ward and nonito are speaking out against wifebeater suckerpunching ortiz... because they don't think of themselves as trained animals... these guys actually have a sense of honor and brothership with other boxers.
My thoughts precisely.
The way I see it though Ortiz was fighting dirty from the jump, Floyd was bar none the superior fighter in skill, speed, experience and overall ring generalship. The more accurate, crisp and telling blows were landed by Floyd.
That said, Floyd was on his way to knocking Ortiz out anyway he could set the tone by doing so “professionally” minus the sucker punch. This would have saved him the grief of this aftermath!
Hatred against him is Floyd's food, hatred played out in media his drinks.
To get Floyd fight Pacman, get him hungry and thirsty by ignoring him from now on,.
I believe he will chase that fight.
What is with all these sensitive ass boxers. I get sick of seeing hugs and high fives every round. Just fight. All that psuedo-sportsmanship is how you get Pacquiao vs Mosley and thats not a compliment. If thats the norm now then Id rather see Mayorga fight every weekend.
