Now that we saw Floyd in 4 rounds against Ortiz, when he's usually at his least effective and theyw ere suppose to be his ring rust rounds...How do you think he will do against Pacquiao???
We saw Floyd dominate (he out landed him by like 50 punches and won every round) Victor Ortiz, a young-quick-hard hitting southpaw. Victor also weighed 164 on fight night, to Floyd's 150. And Victor didn't man handle him AT ALL. Floyd was actually walking Victor down for about 80% of the fight.
How do you think he will fare against Pacquiao???
After the way Ortiz fought against him.
I'd favor Pacquiao to win 60/40.
If Ortiz can pressure Floyd like that and connect like that. The faster, more powerful, better footwork, and more experience Pacquiao could do alot more.
Ortiz connected big time on Mayweather????? Last I checked, he landed 26 punches through 4 rounds, at a rate of 17%. Mayweather, having been inactive for 16 months and at age 34, landed close to 80 punches through 4, at a rate of over 35%. And, those aren't even the rounds when Floyd starts having his way with people.
The only problem I see with Pacquiao pressuring and dominating Floyd is the fact that anytime Victor got really close to Floyd or had him on the ropes (which was about 10 seconds a couple times), Floyd would dodge a couple punches and clinch. Victor would have had a better shot at man handling Floyd than Pacquiao would. Pacquiao would most likely walk into the fight at 145-146 lbs, while Floyd would most likely walk in at 147-150. Victor came into the fight at 164 lbs, and Floyd was walking him down, hitting him counters and straight rights, than clinching when Ortiz got in close. I see Mayweather hitting Manny with straight rights (which is something southpaws are the most vulnerable to) and counters (which is something Manny is the most vulnerable to), and than clinching and holding when Pacquiao gets close. Thats the biggest thing that Mayweather does and its smart. Anytime someone gets in close or gets him on the ropes, he clinches and holds.
Also, when Victor had him on the ropes, how many punches was he REALLY landing for those 10 seconds??? Not many. Even in round 4 when Ortiz was "turning it on", how many of those punches landed on Floyd for points, and didn't miss completely or land on his shoulders and arms??? Exactly. Also, Ortiz never had Mayweather hurt. Not even close. He didn't come close to having Mayweather hurt. Shane Mosley had Floyd more hurt than Victor did. If not for the 4th round headbutt and than KO (where Ortiz got EXACTLY what he deserved for headbutting and leaning in with his head throughout the fight), Mayweather would most likely have been up 40-36 or 40-35 already on the scorecards.
I am just saying, Mayweather fought a better opponent (and you Pacquiao lovers better not try and say Victor wasn't ready or any of that s**t) than anyone Pacquiao has fought since Marquez in 2008. Diaz (still good but past his best and not as solid as Victor), De La Hoya (done and weight-drained completely), Hatton (looked like s**t after Floyd KO'd him and you know it), Cotto (still good but how good has he been after losing to Margarito really?), Clottey (hadn't won a fight in 2 years), Margarito (just got creamed by Mosley and done), Mosley (got wasted by Floyd and looked like crap against Mora), and Marquez (already beaten badly by Floyd at 144 and past even being good).
Pacquiao had the chance, he had about 2-3 weeks, to fight Ortiz before Floyd signed to fight him. Instead, Pacquiao chose to fight Marquez at 144, 2 years after Floyd doing so. And it should be noted that Marquez 2 years ago at 144 was a better fight than know at 144, I am just saying...
Bottom line...Mayweather hardly struggled with Ortiz, who was in his prime, coming off big wins, out weighed him by 14 lbs, hits as hard as Pacquiao (if not harder), and who Pacquiao and Roach both said has a very good shot at troubling Floyd, especially early in the fight. Pacquiao lovers also said that Victor is actually quicker than Floyd at this point...Yeah it really showed when Floyd hit him with straight rights and counters all night, until the headbutt crap.
I am not denying that Pacquiao is faster than Ortiz and comes with angles, but Floyd has quick hands too and comes at angles. Floyd has been able to be neutralized by big opponents who try to man handle him (Castillo 1 & 2). Pacquiao won't be able man handle Floyd, no matter what you guys say.
For example, Margarito being taller, bigger, having the longer reach. **** didn't matter, you know why? Because his style of fighting basically nulls his height advantage, he fights like a short fighter, then he fights inside and doesn't use his reach so his 6" reach over Pacquiao was eliminated. His size on fight night didn't matter because he's a come forward fighter who's seen his best days.
But you know, some one like Floyd or Sergio Martinez having all of the advantages over Pacquiao, is very bad. Pacquiao would get murdered in the ring.
After the way Ortiz fought against him.
I'd favor Pacquiao to win 60/40.

Every one who has pressured Floyd, was bigger than him.
Jose Luis Castillo, Oscar De La Hoya, Victor Ortiz. Both DLH and Ortiz were taller than him as well.
Pacquiao doesn't fit this description.
He's short at 5' 6". Okay, a 2" height advantage doesn't matter? I can agree with that.
His reach is short at 67". Okay, you say a 5" reach advantage doesn't matter?.
Floyd would be the bigger man on fight night, most likely by only 2-4lbs. Floyd having all of these advantages over you, is a problem. You don't want a guy with Floyd's style to have all of these advantages over you.
I thought the fight would be closer before. But that was only because I feared for Mayweather's age and inactivity. Whether Ortiz is on Pac's level or not, what I was mostly concerned with was how sharp Mayweather looked after 16 months and being 34. He answered that question and really overdid himself. He showed his cat like reflexes, he showed his really fast counter right hands, accuracy, really throwing those right hands with a lot meaning throughout the 4 rounds. Forget the opponent being young and strong, and big or whatever, it's just how Floyd still looks at 34 with such long inactivity. It's crazy. Now I know he'd beat Pacquiao easily over 12, he beats the **** out of him. I say 12, but they'll have to stop the fight. Floyd will have a field day with Pacquiao. Floyd will have the weight, height, and reach advantage over Pacquiao. Add his skill, defense, and accuracy...and Pacquiao just has no chance.
After the way Ortiz fought against him.

Sorry to douse water on your optimisms.
This fight is not likely to happen. As long as the odds are almost equal you won't see Floyd take the challenge. If you haven't noticed, he's been fighting only when he is at least a 6 to1 favorite. Even at 7 to 1, he had to resort to one of the dirtiest tricks in the books to get a KO.
Take a cue from his rabid supporters. They know that this fight is not going to happen. They know Floyd. Most of them belong in Floyd's inner circle. That's why they insist, in spite of contradictory evidences, that Roach, Arum and company will never let Pac fight Floyd. They know that this fight is dead and they will twist, distort and lie to put the blame on anyone except Floyd.
after floyds performance i have to say he wont be able to deal with pacquiaos movement and speed. I was picking floyd before but now just cant imagine floyd winning
Imagine pacquiao in the position when ortiz had floyd in the corner.
Game over.
end thread here. people say how can pac solve the floyd style puzzle? in my book it's always been how can floyd solve the pacquiao puzzle? i've always seen floyd as the challenger in a pac/may fight, not the other way around. this fight will never happen. floyd will do everything not to make it happen. i actually don't blame him.

why do you peeps keep talking about who wins in this fight? fight will never happen. floyd is scared. he admits so. no way he could beat the pacman.
pbf and his loyal apologists will forever pretend that poochiao don't want to take the test.
pretty easy to knock a guy out when he doesnt know p unches are coming. pacquiao wouuld have had ortiz unconcious for 15 mins twitching and convulsing on the canvas if he had that chance floyd did
floyd looked lost when ortiz was on the attack ... right hook, stright left were landing pretty good....pac is just on nother level when it comes to offense......aint no way pac loses to floyd....
So you got that out of fighting a b level fighter that had about a 10-20% chance of winning from the get go?
His output was nowhere near where it needed to be. Pac is quicker, more angles, will use the straight left and that weak defense shoulder roll won't work with Pac.
Rude awakening for floyd fans that think this will be an easy fight.
DAMN floyd better not run or come up with another excuse.
I guess flomos just skip all the threads that say unlimited testing.......what's next once he says OK on the contract?

How do you think he will fare against Pacquiao???Floyd will beat the **** out of Pac....But after tonight Freddie and Arum will never let that happen. Didnt Roach say Ortiz and Manny was some of the best sparring he's ever seen?? I hope he was joking!
Poochiao needs to take the test first.
and after Mayweather aka P4P GOD aka Obese Cash Cow aka THE GOAT aka MR.42 and oh dominated Ortiz the way he did. Poochiao wants nothing of this Demi-God
