Protect yourselves at all times..
Floyds a sharp shooter and keeps his eyes on you..the moment you are distracted BAM!
It's not his fault Ortiz was away with the fairies..at this level of boxing you should have 110% focus..and Ortiz isn't ready for this level..
Think, would PAC have let that happen? Would even khan let that happen? Look at when khan went to touch gloves with maidana, and maidana tried to take his head off..if that connected would maidana be the bad guy for trying to beat his opponent!
If you want a friendly sport watch tennis, boxing is the province of fighters..and sorry guys..fighting is dirty at times but all is fair in love and war!
it is. what's so hard to understand in there?
suppose depends on the context...all I know is, its the ref's job to call the illegal shots, if the ref isn't saying anything then by all means they can beat eachother however they want..it is afterall a fight
Harold gave him the second round and never met any complaints from the rest of the team anyway. I think while losing he looked still dangerous and had a shot. Like i said tho he would lose imo but then so would everybody else
Harold Lederman is a Class A idiot.
Someone said that the judges all had it 3-0 to Mayweather and that's possibly because they have sufficent vision.
Ortiz was completely out of his depth and thoroughly dominated up to the KO.
What Floyd did was allowable, of course it was a "legal" hit but there are unwritten rules in all sports and when fighters are touching gloves you should not be throwing punches. But it was classless and unsportsmanlike for him to do so.
Also what was Cortez doing. He had no clue what to do in that situation and I think Ortiz was confused because of it.
Geez! HE HAD TO CHEAP SHOT ORTIZ TO WIN!!!!......IT WAS CLEAR THINGS WERE CHANGING IN THE 4th!!!!! Ortiz was pressing Floyd landing some good bombs. Who knows what would have happened if it reached 12 rounds..
"Mayweather really showed a lot of talent by hitting a man WHO WASN'T LOOKING AT HIM. Regardless of how dirty the head-butt was, why would you want to win by punching a defenselss man? It's just pathetic that he thinks it's ok."
I've been too emotional to put it in such good, short and perfectly observed! Those that can't see that, are just as guilty as "cheap shot" Floyd. Taking s cheap shot is one of the worst things in boxing. Period!!
Cheap shot ain't right. If you are the best win it the right way and you get all the glory. Wtf, he even had a go with Larry Merchant.. This ain't wrestling Floyd.. We wanted to get are moneys worth. Would have been an action packed fight. I wanted you to win the right way. Am I asking too much?? Ain't classy indeed.
I got robbed again. Damn! Ain't worth the dollars a paid for!
defenseless man? why because he decided to hug and keep his hands down? because he was way over his head and not experienced enough? and what good bombs are you talking about? the total 26 punches landed in 4 rounds lol the 0 jabs landed lol. yeah really? lmao your right there are unwritten laws in sports and heres one in boxing. Real fighters boxers dont complain to the ref when someone fouls or fights dirty they get even. end of story. play with fire get burned

With Mosley it was totally different. The referee (the much better Kenny Bayless) broke them up with zero confusion, and Mosley just wanted to talk and argue, so Floyd took a shot. It was what he should have done in that situation.
Unlike with Victor where Floyd initiated the hug then immediatley took 2 cheap shots. Nobodys arguing that it was legal. But it was F***ing lame!!!! Mayweather is so much better than that, he has let his skills shine in all his previous wins, this time he won by playing possum.
Ortiz wasn't in it.
I'd say Hatton was 'in it' when he fought Mayweather.
Vic was being completely dominated and lost every round up until the KO.
I think Ortiz would have most likely quit by round the 8th Round maybe earlier.

No. I mean a good fight, Vic was in it, losing yes but its Mayweather this is about as competitive as it gets with him. Floyds a genius.
I think he would have stopped Vic if not by KO then by TKO as his face was already swelling but Ortiz can punch, seemed to Buzz him a touch before the headbutt and was still in the fight.

By good fight do you mean a onesided beat down and probable stoppage?

Its a shame as it was shaping up into a very good fight but thats boxing. Yeah man that wasnt just a guy being a little wreckless with the head that was a straight up Vicious Headbutt! Id probably have taken two points for that sh!t man! Floyd did what any cold minded fighter with a hunger to win would do after getting butted, took every advantage over a naive young opponent and knocked him out.

I thought Floyd was buzzed last night but after rewatching im not so sure now, he seemed ok. Either way his defence after he got tagged was brilliant on the ropes and yeah i think Ortiz was just so jacked up and frustrated to that he couldnt land the shots he thought would end it he turned thug.
Yes, that is what I meant. He got excited that May went to the ropes and he felt he could finish him off.
My thoughts exactly. Ortiz jumped head first in Mayweathers face I guess in frustration that he wasn't hurting him, making it a ***** move.

When these weird or unusual things go on, doesn't anyone wonder why it always seems to be Floyd that rises above it and continues to dominate? Do you think it's by chance?
You act like Floyd knew it was going to end the night, he did it to gatti and Mosley and nothing like that ever happened, if you rewatch it you see as soon as they finish tapping gloves floyd is already in fight mode, but ortiz wants to tap gloves and hug. Ortiz hugged floyd without Floyd even hugging back it was awkward and then he got ktfo
Either way Ortiz deserved it, that leaping headbut was one of the most blatant and unsportsman like fouls I seen in a while
This ^^^^^^^
100% agree bro!
though u can't even mention the word class in tonights fight! Victor threw out any chance of deserving Class from floyd the minute he shoved his skull in his face!
if i had green I'd green k you ;)

Its legal but not very classy. But then as u say Vic should have been protecting himself and also if id just took a violent headbutt from someone i think my sportsmanship would go out the window and we got a Fight. Legal shot Floyd wins fair and square.
Exactly, even Ortiz couldn't complain
I don't know about Ortiz, but it was a bitch move for the fans and the sport of boxing.
Mayweather could have given the fans their money's worth and he could of given the sport of boxing a brilliant spectacle. Instead he chooses to end the night on a bitter note with his unsportsmanlike conduct.
I don't think people feel sorry for that idiot Ortiz. I think people feel bad that they paid for a joke of a KO.
