the gloves dont mean crap. floyd always uses grant. idk about ortiz tho.if anything they will protect his hands better.
Usually, they don't. I thought that fighters could elect either Reyes/Grant gloves separately, but that the weight of the gloves should be determined beforehand.
You know what's interesting? Grant gloves' are generally regarded as more cushioned gloves and Reyes' for punchers because the weight distribution is different. Grant gloves distribution is more up front, thus cushioning your hands while Reyes is more at the wrist, less padding up front, more damage...
Now here's the big "what if"...the gloves for the Mosley/Mayweather fight were Grant gloves...the second round of the Mosley fight Mayweather got hit with a huge right hand with a Grant glove.
I sometimes wonder what would have happened had that been a Reyes glove.
If it was so obvious people wouldn't be comparing the ability of the klitsckos to knock out opponents with a certain type of glove, to other fighters in lighter weight classes.
It's not as obvious as your nick is original, wait I mean it's not original but it is original. It's original but at the same time it's not.
No shi.t captain obvious
Grant gloves are "pillow" gloves though :lol1:
Anyways, I understand that it's going to be 8oz. But, I don't understand the ridiculous "get hit by them" talk.
There is a difference between getting hit with Grant 8oz gloves, to getting hit with Reyes(punchers gloves) 8oz gloves.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Because, quite frankly Ortiz can't fuck with Floyd regardless.
I figured that Floyd just wanted to use Reyes because they were using 10 oz gloves for that fight since it was @ 154. I never knew DLH forced him. Which seems kind of odd, to be honest.
I dont ever seeing Mayweather wearing Reyes fight night, why would he now???
he wore Winning gloves against judah who used Everlast
Grants are not pillows
He wore Reyes when he fought De La Hoya.
they're called pillows all the time like our classic gloves are called sponges from time to time
the reason I have been told they're called pillows is this. They have different layers of different foam in the hand area to protect the hands. This gives the fighter great protection but minimize impact. The grants tend to break down during a fight giving an almost pillow like effect when hitting.
Vic has worn Reyes almost his whole career like Mosley split time between Everlast and Reyes.
Hey Eaner, can you talk a bit more on what you meant by the Grants breaking down during a fight?
The different quirks and benefits of certain gloves are always interesting.
Everyone knows floyd has the brittle bones of a senior citizen woman and isn't man enough to wear Reyes gloves like a man.
Joe Cortez is another bs advantage. GBP are clearly corrupt when it comes to refs.
And if Ortiz goes into the ring first and Floyd gets to make him wait thats another bs advantage.
Fraud is scared to fight Ortiz with Reyes gloves, a non-bias ref and going into the ring first.
Best post in this thread. :hail::hail:

um Grants are referred to as "pillows" all the time. Steve Kim might be a d1ck but he is hardly the 1st to make this observation.
it's more likely that this is the first internet messageboard losers have heard the term and so they are upset by this.

I've just checked and Victor wore Cleto Reyes for his fight against Berto. If Victor has to wear Grant cos Floyd made it in the contract then guess what - advantage Floyd #2.
yup, cleto reyes aka the "punchers glove". they don't call them the punchers glove for nothing. big punchers typically like to use them to help maximize their punch. hopefully it doesn't affect ortiz to use grant gloves instead.
