I see people keep bringing this up everytime a Mayweather fight is near..why?
How does he lose points for looking human and having a close decision win?..I'm tired of the haters holding him to a standard beyond reality, the only thing that REALLY mattered was the fact that, although many people viewed him struggle, and in most peoples eyes and some biased opinions LOSE, what he DID do is what MOST won't. REMATCH!..and he did it within 7 months and CLEARED any DOUBT!..
So to the haters, Mayweather is ONLY HUMAN, and remains UNDEFEATED no matter how many times you bring up the FIRST Castillo fight, because YES there WAS TWO!..and he clarified that he is the BETTER BOXER..
Had to vent. now resume.
I'm going to get killed for this but this is my opinion o well.....I thought Floyd won the fight and can't really see the controversy in it. I believed I had scored the first 5 for Floyd as Castillo did next to nothing. I truly believe the commentators swayed public opinion on the fight and Lederman's scorecard was absurd to me (and it wasn't the 1st or last time I disagreed with his scoring). I also had scored both rounds where points were deducted for Floyd making one round 10-8 Floyd and the other a 9-9 round. This was the 1st fight where Floyd I wouldn't say tired down the stretch but where his opponent was gaining momentum and not the other way around. I do remember giving Castillo the championship rounds (11 & 12) which I dare say is prob the ONLY fight that this occurred in Floyd's career. Imo it was too little too late for Castillo. If u watch the fight u do hear Floyd complain about his shoulder early on but I don't use that as an excuse because it didn't really seem to prohibit him from throwing punches when he had to. Castillo wasn't the first fighter to rough up Floyd see his fight with Chavez I believe his name was the very fight before Castillo 1 and was the blueprint I'm sure Castillo watched b4 fighting Floyd. Chavez was just too small to be as effective and I would say that fight and his fight with Burton were tougher fights than Castillo 1.
after the 6th round I thought the only way Castillo could win is by KO.
well, the 11th round was one helluva round. how did you scored that round?
The 11th was a good round, hard to score, but I think Mayweather landed the cleaner shots, even tho Castillo kept pushing forward, he seemed to have crowded his punches, and it looked sloppy, when Mayweather did let go it was clean shots especially the left hook right hand combos.
First of TS---Cotto is a loser---a bum...who fought nobodies his entire life; his lack of skills was only matched by his mediocre opponents..and as a person he's a lowlife who did drugs..wait...what is this thread about again? Ohhhhh..Castillo won the fight.
well, when he or his fans constantly bring up his undefeated record over and over again, its natural for others to bring up a fight that they think he lost.
personally I did have Castillo winning the first fight. And frankly I have a really hard time seeing a Mayweather win, unless you ignore body punches. but it most certainly was a close fight, and I dont think a draw is out of the question.
no shame really in losing a fight, and Castillo was quite a good fighter. plus the rematch, while still not a walk in the park, was a clear win for Floyd.
