was it getting rid of billy graham??
drinking beer, snorting coke and shagging fat birds aside, i think it this was.
don't get me wrong, floyd senior no doubt knows his stuff, but hatton is no avoid mayweather. and the cracks were there prior to the pac fight. and before anyone jumps in, i'm not blaming floyd snr for hatton getting iced off pac.
but i honestly think that billy graham would have been in a better position to prepare hatton for the pac fight. i'm not saying the outcome would have been different, because it wouldn't. but i think BG would have put a better camp together, and would have would have worked on ricky's strong points in order to beat pac......or at least last longer.
i know the lazcano performance was poor, but we are talking about a guy who helped ricky to his biggest wins, and had worked with him since he was a kid. plus, and lets be fair, he did give a dam good account of himself against avoid.
anyone else think hatton should have stuck with billy?
p.s i think it's very sad and silly that their relationship has ended up like it as. grow ffs.
I think the fact that he would balloon up in weight between fights and party like a rock star just eventually caught up with him. You can only do that for so long and he should have known better.
True, I mean you can't just go 200 lb in between fights and reduce to 140 every time you fight.
I dont think it would have made much of a difference regardless of what lifestyle choices Ricky adhered by. He came up short against to future ATG's and I dont think he can be knocked for that.
Stylistically Floyd is a pure boxer and a master technician he was able to pot shot Ricky and counter him all night and since Ricky came to fight he was laid out on his arse.
On the other hand Manny is a true fighter I dont think anyone likes to fight as much as Manny himself and when someone like Ricky tried to step up to him the results where as we all witnessed. I went through the highs and lows of Ricky's career and it was a damn good ride. Simply can't knock him for coming undone against two of the best fighters this era has produced.
Every dog has it's day and Hatton had a great run until he took on Mayweather. That fight shattered him mentally and his self belief was gone and his vices really started to show. I don't think having Billy Graham in his corner would have helped in much in the Manny fight. He was a good fighter but not in Mayweather's or Manny's class and would always come up short when fighting them.
I agree. Not even a corner ring post could've saved him that night.

Hey, fat birds are easier to score with. Can't knock him on that.
He stopped using the style that allowed him to defeat Tszyu, which is holding techniques. If Mayweather had to be a dirty fighter against Hatton (a smaller man) than you have to realize just how good Hatton was at one time. Look back at some early Hatton fights and you have to be amazed at the skills he possesed at one time.
boys, i couldn't agree more re the weight fluctuation between fights, and that was most evident with ac fight. but what i'm saying is, surely he should have kept BG? one **** performance (people will think more) against lazcano shouldn't warrant rid of BG.
btw, shaggin fat birds is good for dropping weight - not olnly are you buring c's off, but when you get up in the am, the last thing on your mind is eating.......trust me, i know.
he was drinking beer, snorting coke and shagging fat birds aside, during the billy grahame era. thing is he shouldnt have been drinking so much and doing drugs

I agree with this . . .
On the other hand, he must have been something kind of special to live his kind of lifestyle, and still accomplish what he did. Imagine if he had been more dedicated in his off time.
I thought Ricky was a good fighter, but early on I think it was clear that he was a limited fighter. Hell, even in 2004 his own country were telling him to stay away from a young Miguel Cotto.
