I think so. These guys are way too big for anyone smaller to be effective. Don't get me wrong they do have skill but it's their size that is their biggest advantage. These guys look like monsters compared to the opponents they're facing. I think there should be a weight limit in the Heavyweight division just like their is in all over weight divisions.
The problem with this is, the Klitschko's are totally dominant and no one cares about cruiserweights. Move LHW up to 185 limit, move CW upto 215, HW open.
Btw, I thought boxing was about the skills, not the weight.
Or does that only fly for certain fighters?
If it was just about skills and not weight then there would be NO weight classes would there? Floyd has great skills but would be be able to move up and beat the Klits? Hell no of course not.
I certainly think there is a case for reallocating the limits... I mean 4lbs separating the lower classes and 30lbs separating some heavyweight fights?
No. Adamek used to be a light heavyweight and that's why the size and power difference looked so ridiculous. If he was a legitimate 220 pound heavyweight with legitimate punching power, the fight may have been more competitive.
Besides, the Klitschko brothers can both weigh under 240 pounds while you have far shorter heavyweights who show up at 270 pounds. You'd have to ban them because of their height and that would not work.
