This is the first thread I have made on this fight and I do not see why so many posters out there think Ortiz will or can beat mayweather. The guys got piss poor defense, telegraphs his punches, and above all has no jab and limited boxing skills. What the hell is he going to do other than overpower mayweather, which he won't either because mayweather is most probably stronger than he is.
Additionally I would be surprised if he won more than a round let alone the scrap. He will be eating straight right hands all night, and will get busted up, and judging by his punch resistence and tender skin, probably stopped. In a nutshell Ortiz imo has no chance of winning unless mayweather grows old overnight which will not happen. Tell me what you guys think.
Against who? Ortiz?

sounds a lot like Manny Pacquiao is he also tailor made for Floyd?
Back when I was rockin' Qaddafi as your son, I never dreamed the cowards would do him like they did. This is a real tragedy over there man.

They can do whatever they want, but nobody tells you that Qaddafi changed Libya from a colonized **** hole that was dirtpoor to one of the nations with the highest standard of living accross Africa and the middle east. When Libya becomes a place run by tribal warlords and bandits they will regrett getting rid of him.

explain why people are giving Manny a chance against him? why even bother
I think floyd can be beat. I think fighters like Wright and vernon forrest stomp him, he struggled with Oscar ffs, but Ortiz has no chance at all. He is another Hatton, but with less determination or heart. I hope he wins; but will he? No he wont.
Did Ortiz not show enough determination in the Berto fight for you? I guess we can just disagree and I'll respect your opinion. I just don't see this being a one sided fight, I think Ortiz is gonna at least have a few moments.
there's no need to analyze this fight. floyd knows how to break down styles more than anyone and i just use him as my guide. if floyd is willing to fight someone then he's not the real deal or is just coming off a fluke win and is ready for the taking. if floyd is not willing then you know he's a legitimate threat.
Man you are way overrating Floyd and making him into some invincible fighter. I'm not saying Ortiz is gonna win but every dog has his day and Ortiz does have a chance as slim as it may be.
I think Oscar made a good point (event though he was just talking ish and trying to hype Ortiz up) when he said look at all of Floyds last opponents in the last 5 years or so. All old, now he's in there with a hungry and strong 24 year old trying to make a huge statement. Add that to Floyd being 34 and coming off a long layoff (again). At the very least all these factors make for an interesting fight.

Yea and ortiz's was the berto win.
Agree with your whole post plus:
1) Mosley was never that good to begin with
2) He was shot to dust and couldn't punch when he fought Floyd
Good look... Mosley was that good, but he's the type that didn't/doesn't know what to do if he couldn't outbox his opponent from the outside. I agree though, he was basically done by the time he fought Floyd.
I get what you're saying but Ortiz is not that strong. mosley is definitely stronger than him, and he couldn't outmuscle floyd inside. Ortiz will get beat very badly. I think it will be a mayweather exhibition culminating in a tko.
Mosley can't fight on the inside so his strength was for nothing. All he used his strength for was to continuously (and successfully) hold; Ortiz will use it to keep pushing Floyd back the way he did to Berto (Berto's not bad in the strength department and he couldn't take much of a forward step).
I see Ortiz winning at least a 3rd of the fight, so I don't see an exhibition, but I can see Mayweather getting a TKO after a grueling and close fight.
Any of those wins are better then a Berto win
Mosley has only lost to basically the P4P best
Pretty much. Seriously I think a 154 Wright would be able to beat floyd quite easily, too bad he was avoided by everyone except by a guy bigger than him.

I disagree. Mosley hasn't looked good since beating Oscar in 2001.
He struggled with Raul Marquez, Jose Luis Cruz, Collazo, David Estrada, lost to Cotto, barely beat a shotter than hell Mayorga, couldn't even win a round vs. Wright,Pac and Floyd and got destroyed by Forrest.
With the exception of beating Margarito under dubious circumstances and k.o'ing a way done Vargas, he's been mediocre fights for years.
I was never impressed with him tbh.
