If you actually watch the damn fight, soon as the uppercut lands(he threw bout 3 in a row) Roy announced the blood started flowing..some people always make up sh1t.hell Zebeck didnt even cry about a damn headbutt..he gave Berto his props and thats that on that
why so much hate for Berto. It was an exciting fight. I am sure they will both still be on HBO 5 months from now. move on.
Berto will def be back, even if he lost 5 fights in a row
Zaveck on the other hand will most likely never be back
Headbutts that stop fights shouldnt happen
And if they do it should be treated as so, not as a TKO, whether accidental or intentional
I bet you were saying "this is boxing, low blows happen" when watching the Mares-agbeko fight
shouldnt be TKO, it should be HBO ' HEAD BUTTED OUT!!!
headbutts happen. this is boxing. get over it.

So because Roy said it, its true?
In case you didnt notice, the entire HBO crew were rimming Berto's hoop the whole night.
They didnt even comtemplate the possiblity of a headbutt.
Yea i found that extremely weird
They didnt show where the possible cut and swelling took place and just kept saying it was a punch
The quick uppercuts definitely did their damage and cut him, however I have to agree that the MASSIVE swelling that appeared out of nowhere was result of the butt and was the reason the fight was stopped. Zavec did say he couldnt see as result of the headbutt, not a cut on in Slovene after the fight to Slovene TV. I think he tried to say somethin' about it as well during the HBO interview (something like "due to injury that happened not part of the sport") but his English wasn't good enough to say what he wanted.
It is what it is; I'm not mad or going to argue about the result. Props to Berto, he put on a good performance! It happens in boxing. If Zavec wants a rematch then that's for his team to work out.

it was a damn good fight but i get tired of people making excuses all the damn time..Berto won a hard fought fight
Nobody is making excuses. Who would say that Berto was no danger for Zaveck at all, is an idiot. However, the facts are speaking for itself.
Yes, it was a great fight and it would of been even better, if the headbut would of not happened. Yes, Berto has won the fight, but if you do not see what kind of damage has his accidental headbut, which was a consequence of his wobbly legs done, then you are not trying to be objective in the slightest.
You have to admit, Zaveck would of not been even close to as bloody as he was, if the headbut did not happen. His hematome was as messed up, as if a bloody truck would of drove over his face. But then again, Zaveck could of done much better with a better cutman and corner in the general.
Berto definitely did headbutt him a couple of times (likely on accident), but I agree that it looked like the swelling and cuts were caused by those successive uppercuts.
Nobody is saying that Zaveck was not cut already, before the headbut. It is obvious that Berto has done some damage, aswell as Zaveck did - Berto was cut over one of his eyes aswell and it was visible very well, at the end of the fight.
However, that little cut was not a problem. The problem was a hematoma, which was messed up by a headbut. Captures in the slow motion clearly shows, that Berto has run into Zaveck's right cheek and he did it hard. Nobody is saying that it was intentional, but it happened and this is a fact.
I have no idea how referee has failed to see it, becouse he was as close as he could be. He was watching Zaveck directly in the face when it happened and it was obvious that Zavec felt a big pain, when it happened. Blood has started running down his eye at this time, aswell.
And yeah, Zaveck is not and will not be talking about it. He is a fair and big hearted guy, who did not come in the USA to cause drama. He came to prove himself and in my opinion, he has done it. However, if not a rematch, another chance against a decent fighter in the USA, would be what he deserves. This match should of not end like that and everyone who knows shizzle about boxing, knows that.
It was Zaveck's plan to open up in the later rounds and it was obvious, that by every round, he was getting more dominant. Berto's footwork aswell as defence, are nowhere near Zaveck's level.
