Berto-Zavec, cuts caused by headbutts?

berto is a bum but i enjoyed the bloody a** kicking that he put on zavecks face.......the sharp shots left zavecks face resembling a deformed butt h0le............. You talk about buttholes disturbingly often

it makes my c*ck hard just to watch the creamy euro bum pizza face..............you can put your dick out of berto's mouth now.... in case it's still there.

zavec is not a guy to bring out excuses like US boxers like to do. he knows it's pointless. the facts say everything. zavec lost. it was a headbutt. the ref saw nothing. animations show everything.

Which ones? Ordinarily HBO would find the punch that did the damage but the only thing they showed looked suspiciously like a headbutt. I thought it was odd that HBO didn't even consider the fact that it might have been a headbutt. Maybe it was cos usually the other fighter alerts people to the fact that he was butted, but still..... Because there american what would you expect

That "headbutt" caused swelling under the eye, there was no bleeding after the ref separated them, then another upper landed, then Lampley points out Berto has swelling and Zaveck has a cut as Berto lands two more big shots which really opened, Zaveck had a similar smaller cut under his left eye brow from punches. I never seen a "punch" do that amount of damage in so little time, especially as Berto was dead tired. Too bad it was such a nasty cut. Headbutt or not, it could have been a great fight. Looking at the post fight stats, Zavec outlanded Berto both in power punches and total punches. Berto was definitely more effective, but Zavec stood his ground and fought back. Since Zavec would step his activity up in the 2nd half of the fight, it would have been a slugfest.

first off, no, im not here to 'discredit' berto or 'make excuses', get that out of your head. its just that those cuts were really nasty, and seemed to come almost out of nowhere. You usually see that kind of facial damage caused so quickly because of a clash of heads. I wouldve really liked to see the fight continue, but obviously it couldnt have in zavecs condition. Poor guy was so upset that the fight had to be stopped, and honestly i dont blame him. I thought the fight was starting to turn his way, and its definitely not like he was being outclassed, he was landing some flush shots on berto from the getgo. I did not think they were headbutts when watching live. I have seen some replays and they are at best, inconclusive. Zaveck did not say anything about headbutts after the fight. IMO, the cuts were caused by punches.

Watching it live i couldnt believe a punch did that to his face in a span of 2 min. especially when nothing hard was really landing for berto After watching the replay, it was a headbutt

Honestly, I didn't even think that headbutts were involved when I was watching live but those GIFs say otherwise. Did anybody else think that Berto's defense was horrible? I don't know the numbers but it looked to me like Zaveck threw much less punches but landed just about as many.

(If you ever broke your nose you will notice sometimes you get 2 black eyes then next day) I never seen a punch cause an eye to swell like that, if you download the fight and look at the end, you will see Zaveck had a CUT on his eyebrow that came from a punch. That swelling came from the headbutt and the constant rubbing of Berto's head in that spot. Look at it closely, Zaveck cringes when Berto headbutts him. Name me a fight where a punch caused the eye to swell shut within 30 seconds, a punch causes a CUT which bleeds and expands (like the one on his eyebrow, which was Bleeding but not swelling) Gonzalez-Niida comes to mind. Though it didn't close as quickly, and Gonzalez had been landing cleaner than Berto. It took a little over a minute to close and didn't seem as bad.

Berto was running at Zavec like a raging bull lol. The second headbutt was definitely mean. It hit the nose and then slid on to Zavec's eye. That was probably the butt that made Zavec look like someone spilled a cup of Tomato juice on his face. What worries me the most is that REF in the ring. The dude is acting like nothing happened. Did they put in another journeyman to REF that fight? Any REF experts here? For me this is an undecided fight, and I'd definitely bet points on Zavec the next time they fight. I know Berto grabbed the belt and ran for the hills, but Zavec could be pursuing him for a while, if he finds a promoter in the US for his last 1-2 years. Zavec looked damn good and I can think of quite some US welters he could beat right now.

Uppercuts I'm not sure but that's Bertos punch and many were landed on the inside/inside the clinch. hmm, guess Ill check it out again when the fight is available on youtube. its possible that Berto opened the cuts with punches...he is a very explosive fighter...but I just didnt see too many flush shots that landed around his eye area. Could have missed it though.

When he walks out in Round #5 his eyes were fine and NO swelling, just blood. Then after berto headbutts him it starts to swell and you can see him cringe in pain. I have NEVER seen a punch do that, Berto wasnt landing hard punches in that round either, he was just hugging and rubbing his head into Zaveck since Berto was GASSED in Round #5. So tell me which punch? If you look closely the main part of that headbutt is to the nose, not the eye. When contact with the nose is made the force was greatly slowed. The swelling may of been sped up from the butt but majority of the swelling and cut over the eye was caused from the uppercut. are there any gifs of the uppercut by any chance? I remember HBO showing the replay but nothing looked that super flush that it would have caused such a bad cut. It was a good fight last night, Id like to see a rematch personally.
