his stature is intimidating, but his intimidation skills are pretty weak
he gives his opponents a tough look during the staredowns, but aside of that, there is no aura of menace emanating from him
he's supposed to be a gentleman after all, not some bully
I agree with this. His intimidation rests solely on his stature in the division. Facing him you know that in about 24 hours time you're more than likely going to face a horrible prolonged and possibly career ending beat down that's going to leave you in the hospital. The sheer knowledge of these facts is enough to initiate brown trouser time.
Appearance wise however, I wouldn't call Vitali an especially scary man. Not like Tyson or Liston. Those guys just had a presence about them, lent by a sheen of madness and animality, that you could feel through your television screen. With Liston it's subtle since he wasn't an especially outgoing personality, but his quietness and the cold dead eyes were more powerful than any number of vituperations, threats or mean stares.
Probably Sam Peter lmao.
I rate the Peter win quite highly due to the circumstances of the fight. Vit was coming off a four year layoff, and stepped right back into the ring against a hard hitting durable champion without a warmup, won pretty much every round and stopped Peter for the first time in his career. Nothing "lmao" about that at all.
BTW I also rate the Gomez win highly. Gomez is generally underrated as a Vit opponent.
Who's the best fighter he retired... now think carefully... some people hold Briggs in high regard too......
No, Briggs was a washed up old punching bag at the time Vitali fought him.
oH and the best fighter he outslugged & outboxed and lost to is also said fighter from England/Canada.
See bold.

before you powder your face for your 1000th performance of same 'ol same 'ol, im not going to respond to your cut and paste arguments beyond this point. vitali is awesome. i respect him and his ability greatly and even though i know ill get flack for this he does beat several atg's in his division. and i will say who marciano, patterson, and liston. he has odds against some and has no chance against others. please just be human and respect my opinion and that of others. soften up a lil and others will respect you more.
Dom, i respect the klitschkos dominance of the hw division of the last 5 plus year but come on. lewis is a better fighter in a better era. let it go.

Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis
THE TRUTH
Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight and was getting outboxed, outworked, outmuscled and outlanded by Vitali.
punches landed
Vitali 156
Lewis 102
Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.
After the fight, Vitali intimidated the shit out of Lewis and made him look like a bitch.
All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.
Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.
Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.
Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"
Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"
Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.
Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.
Lewis said he was "at the peak of my powers" when he got his ass whooped by Vitali.
Lewis was coming off the KO win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"
In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years"
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. That's a FACT.
FACTS about Vitali Klitschko:
- WBC heavyweight champion of the world
- All Time Great and Hall Of Famer
- Has never truly lost
- There is no blueprint to beat him
- He is unbeatable
- Has dominated every opponent he has ever faced
- Has never been behind on the scorecards at the end of a fight
- Has never been knocked down
- Greatest heavyweight champ KO% of all time
- Only man ever to be world heavyweight champ in boxing and kickboxing
It's a shame that injuries/4 year layoff robbed him of a stronger resume. He was WBC and RING undisputed HW Champ when he retired in 2004. We never got to see his true prime. If Vitali had stayed healthy, he would've dominated the HW division from 2005-2008 and his resume would've been on par with Wladimir's great resume.
Vitali is 40 years old now. He came back after the 4 year layoff and is still dominating the HW division. He hasn't lost a single round in his comeback.
Vitali beats any HW from any era.
Next Victim: Polish Warrior Tomasz Adamek
:lol1: :lol1:
Exactly, it ends right there. Regardless of what, he doesn't have the kind of quality opponents that Foreman/Ali/Marciano ect had to solidify their legacy. You can't solidify anything if you don't have at least some decent opponents. Sam Peter is his best win? Peter is strong and everything, but he has no skill, is over rated and i had him losing to Toney in their first fight. Its not Vitali's fault by the way, but hes not ATG because of his lack of quality opponents.
ogf course he is not all time great. you Columbus.. . he is in HOF thats for sure. and talk about his best win? marciano's best win during 30s please. i can continue. the era is weak, but if you d have some boxing knowledge u'd know that Vitali would give trouble to any HW in any era.
Probably Sam Peter lmao.
:lol1: :lol1:
It's poster's like you that turn me into a nuthugger when I'm not even the biggest fan of the fighter I'm defending.
As soon as you tell me who's been a significant HVWT besides Lewis/Wlad, in the last 15 years, I'll tell you who he beat.

I honestly don't understand how people say Vitali isn't an ATG or HOF?
The only close fight he's been in his entire career was a fight he was actually winning in Lennox Lewis. Granite Vitali came as a late replacement and Lewis wasn't expecting to fight him, but still.
All the great fighters in the history of boxing have had at least 1 close fight during their tenure at the top. Why is Vitali any different?
Besides Mayweather and a prime Roy Jones, Vitali has dominated boxing the same if not more than the fighters I just mentioned. Although he holds his hands low, he rarely gets hit. His opponent punch-land ratio is sitting around 18%, while Mayweather's is 16%.
He's not one of my favorite fighters, but I have to give props where props is due. Wlad has a better chance of losing than Vitali and Wlad rarely loses so thats saying something.
Who's the best fighter he beat?
Vitaly, at least for me, always struck me as three hairs away from berserk rage. Like he is likeable, goofy and somewhat personable, but this a very thin layer of civilization over a raging berserk. You can see these glimpses of madness when he fought Lewis, Williams and recently Solis, when Solis fell and would not want to get up Vitaly went ape****.I think his opponents feel it on a subconcious level and thats where the fear comes from.
PS you can also see that rage in a recent ukrainian senate lockout when Vitaly just started pushing people away left right like they were keggles.

The klit sisters worship Lennox. Thats why they hired Emanuel so they can be more like him.
The girls can barley accomplish what one man did on his own.
Look who crawls out from under his rock. It's the bitter butthurt British crybaby JoeyZagz.

Lewis almost took his eye out of his head and u talking about he was scared lol.lewis was nailing him wit clean shots the whole fight.U know what we gone call these klitsckho fanboys from now on. wet klits lol
I did not mean that he is crazy, he can just get "dark in the eyes' aggressive. Thats why I think most of his opponents did not try to push him enough, they were fighting the "smart boxer" vitaly, subconciously fearing to push Vitaly far enough to get him in his berserk mode.
I know you didn't. What I meant was that generally the most intimidating fighters I can think of were those whom you were on uncertain ground with. Tyson was scary because you knew he could snap at the slightest provocation. You could feel the tension through the television screen. Imagine what the opponent must have been feeling. With Vitali, he's a dominating presence but I never really feel scared watching him.

Yeah, I get that. And he's boiled over in the past when his emotions have got the better of him. But he doesn't strike me as being unstable, just hot headed. I can't recall him ever doing something crazy like biting someone's ear or repeatedly hammering them in the nuts or jump kicking them or anything like that. You sort of know where you are with Vitali.
I dunno though, I haven't looked into his eyes during a staredown.
Haha. Honestly, given the choice of fighting Golota or Vitali I'd pick Vitali. At least he'd beat me down in an honest fashion. With Golota you don't know what the heck he's going to do, but you can bet it's going to be painful!
Wlad has not had his lewis fight, so in my eyes the jury is still out on him, although he impresses me more everytime he fights.
Wlad's more than cemented his place in the HOF with his impressive string of flawless defences and his virtual cleaning out of the division. I don't think there can be any doubt about his eventual nomination.
