The same way you said that jones never made any attempt to fight JC, JC didn't even make an attemp to fight hopkins. You know, fear of flying.
JC was an unknown who just won the IBO belt when RJJ was a light hvyweight champ. JC had NO PROBLEM moving up to light hvyweight after RJJ had lost 3 out of 6 fights, 2 by ko. Why couldn't he move up and fight RJJ before hand? Oh thats right RJJ had to go over that way. Don't try and bullsh^t me.
He did, they offered Hopkins 10 million, Hopkins first accepted, then chickened out.
JC only moved up to light heavyweight when he cleaned out the division. The division was massacred so bad they needed the Super Six stunt to bring life back into it.
You mean after B-Hop schooled Tarver and was the lineal champ and after JC beat him, B-Hop went on to school Pavlik and beat Winky.
B-Hop also turned down big money to fight JC when he was middleweight champ.
Jones was at light heavy and never made any attempt to fight JC before.

its a shame calslappy had a fear of floyd. Funny how he overcame that when bhop and jones got older.

Oh cool. I made the first post in this thread in 2011.
I still think the same thing. He was trying his best to impersonate Roy Jones, but ends up looking like a spastic. To be honest, it doesn't look that bad on the mitts, but then you see how it translates in the ring. Sloppy punches all over the place.

And now here we are and Jones is still kicking around gearing up for a cruiserweight title shot. :boxing:

Are you actually trying to imply that Roy Jones was a good win for Calzaghe?
yeah it's a pretty crappy legacy. why even mention jones he was totally shot and was ko'd in one round by danny green 8 months later. lacy was a crap fighter. his resume was garbage and he looked terrible even before he lost to calzaghe. usually good fighters accomplish something notable in their careers. lacy did not. kessler was good and there's a couple other b level fighters on his resume but nothing to be too proud of. did you say he looked good against hopkins? he looked like diarrhea and i can't believe they gave him that decision. after being frustrated for the first 5 rounds he gave up doing anything even resembling boxing and just became a windmill to fool the judges with ineffective work. there were tons of fights out there if he wanted to pursue them but he didn't. he protected himself till the end of his career when he took a couple risks and then retired. a great fighter does not conduct himself in that manner and his legacy deservedly suffers for it.

Is dominating prime Kessler, destroying Lacy, beating Jones, and even if you disagree with the decision, looking good in a tough fight with Bhop that bad of a legacy? I mean Hopkins and Kessler (sorta) are still champions now. The super-middle division was not loaded loaded 3-4 years ago the way it is now. Who would have you had Clazaghe fight outside of Chad Dawson, who is still pretty much a nobody? Glen Johnson? Tarver? Clinton Woods?

What kind of crap mittwork is that? No defensive skills were worked on, it was just pitty pat for show.
I think that is exactly what it was supposed to me...seeing as it was a media workout. :haha:
the point is for a guy who never challenged himself 36 isn't old at all. most people thought ok calzaghe fought a lot of bums in his career but he's gonna finally redeem himself by proving he was the real deal...so he fights a couple good fighters and becomes a mainstay on american tv, he's finally on the verge of building a legacy...but instead he fights roy jones jr??? then retires?
