If Dawson beats Hop is a HOF lock?

I think this thread proves neither Dawson or Adamek have accomplished enough, even if they win their next fights, to be considered for the HOF. Thanks for the responses.

Beating Hopkins would be a good addition to his “application” to the HOF so to speak but cannot be the centerpiece of it if you guys understand what I am saying. Beating some of those guys at 168 once they either move up or at a catchweight could certainly help make the case. If he were to beat Ward, Froch, and Bute in addition to Hopkins along with the guys he already beat then I would definitely say you have to start giving him some consideration.

True. At hopkins' age, dawson won't get alot of credit 4 beating him. ppl will just say age caught up with him. Especially if he beats the brakes off hopkins. yeah, i pretty much agree, that's why i voted he would probably crack the p4p list, but i wouldn't considered him an instant lock for hof. dawson still has time though, and as a somewhat fan of his, i think he can be in it when his career is all said and done.

if calzaghe gets in then obviously dawson should since he would have the much better resume. all dawson would need is a long stretch of title defenses against bums to match calzaghe.

Nope.................I like Dawson too but this shouldn't be a lock for him to get in. My opinion exactly. And i got a big bet on him to beat Bhop.

He needs to a do lot more IMO including a rematch with Pascal for the HOF. Also, Hopkins is almost 47 years old. But the HOF standards are so low now that it would not surprise me if he got in.

Just like Cotto, Dawson looks to always fight the best. Those are HOF fighters to me, always looking to fight the best. Why is Sylvester Stallone even in the HOF, he is a joke ass actor. No disrespect but he literally said directly in his post not to use Stallone being in as an example. Stallone is not in the HOF as a fighter. He is in the HOF as a celebrity. It's two entirely different things. And it doesn't matter that someone fights the best. That doesn't make them a HOF'er. Oakland Billy Smith ALWAYS fought the best. as did Juan Laporte. But they obviously aren't HOF'ers. And Chad Dawson certainly isn't. Not even close.

Cool movie, I'll give you that but I respect fighters much more than I do actors. Stallone even does hgh or some steroid type **** to get big for those roles too. well theres def no way one can respect him as a boxer no doubt...its the image of "Rocky" and what Rocky stood for in boxing...again the music the training etc...jus gets a boxers blood pumpen...good movie for the sport
