Starting from the beggining
Genaro Hernanez
Angel Manfredy
Diego Corrales
Jesus Chavez
Phillip N'dou
Demarcus Corley
Henrey Bruseles
Arturo Gatti
Ricky Hatton
Shane Mosley to some extent took big hits
These arent even all the fighters who went downhill after having fought mayweather
Corrales had some good wins after Floyd beat him.
As did Hatton, his 2nd most impressive performance arguably came after the Floyd fight against Malignaggi. He not only outmuscled Malignaggi, he completely outboxed him too, which was quite embarassing with Paulie having labeled him a club fighter before the fight. The Pacquiao fight was a case of him going in there with the wrong gameplan and a foolish belief he could walk Pac down instilled in him by Floyd Sr. It was Pac's 70 power punches landed in 2 rounds and the brutal knockout which ruined him mentally and led to his retirement, and he's admitted as such.
I'm surprised you didn't include De La Hoya. Mayweather absolutely destroyed him, which is why Pacquiao decided to fight him and why Oscar looked like he was completely shot in that fight.
The only guys I think Floyd really ruined were N'Dou and Hatton. N'Dou for sure because he had brain damage after the fight and had to retire for years. If that isn't ruining, I don't know what is.
Hatton took a lot of punishment. You know it's brutal when jabs and right hand leads put you out. The check hook was just the icing in the cake. He was a finished fighter in the ring.
Can't think of any other fighters Floyd has ruined though, honestly. They were either ruined or not that good to begin with, or continued on just fine. Corrales had some good wins after Floyd beat him.
Actually if you think about it, he sent them to retirement
Morales, Mosley, Margarito, Cotto they still fighting.. They didn't want to consider retirement till Manny came along and whooped they ass. DLH never thought Pac would be his last opponent. It wasn't like these guys said that they were retiring after the fight before the fight.. They all said it after they ass was whooped.
Yes, Manny sent a bunch of guys who continued to fight into retirement. Excellent post.
:lol1: :lol1:
That's a very good point!
Devon Alexander, the career ender.
Kotelnik, Urango and Bradley are probably sitting in a room somewhere alone and scared after their encounter with Alexander the Great.
Hey would you want to step in a boxing ring and risk hearing that many grunts again? These three guys probably have permanent ear damage now. Matthysse is in trouble against Morales now, he'll be so scared of hearing a grunt that he won't be focused on the fighter in front of him.
I'd be scared to death to fight Alexander.
^ I thought Pacquiao fights exclusively with guys who are on their way retirement
ie Hatton Morales Mosley Margatito Cotto DLH

Mayweather didn't ruin anybody. Every one of the fighters yoyu show Videos of were guys he had a good edge on, and which he kbew before the fights were made. His Brains Trust made sure of it. Thake for example Gennaro Hernandez, who, with Corrales at their peak, were classes ahead of everyone else in that group, who were no ore than 3rd raters.
Hernandez was having his last fight, was nearly 33 years old, an emaciated 6 ft tall 130 lbs, who had 7 fights in the previous 2 years since Oscar KO'd him, and it was well known that he was trying to get as many fighte in as possible foor his retirement. Of the 7 fights, only 1 was a "softie" all the other 6 were tough battles with mostly very close, some split scores.
As for Corrales, his story is too well known. Briefly, Corrales had LEFT the division, upwards, couldn't make the weight. Was absolutely broke, owed his lawyers a fortune and already sentenced and going for 2 yrs to jail immediately after the fight. As he said himself, just BEFORE the fight, they got at him when he had to have the money and couldn't resist. He spent most of his training in a sweat box, particularly the whole norning of the weigh-in, which he failed first tie. He almost had to be helped to the scales, and was just skin and bones, looked sick. His trainer said he couldn't get him to train, he just played computer games, and used the sweatbox. This was a "just for the money fight" a TOP EXAMPLE.
As Larry Merchant said, he was passing Corrales' dressing room just before the fight and there was Corrales "stuffing his face with a huge hamburger sandwich".....poor guy. He only went through the motions in SLOW MOTION. it was obvious to everyone. Normally he was a natural killer in the ring. He nearly killed Manfredy in a couple of rounds.
As for the rest of the displayed gallery, they are all 2nd and 3rd Raters, old, washed up or never much good. Henry Bruselles for goodness sake.........
There were better fighters who could have been on that list, not ruined, but checked in their careers for a while.
You speak the truth my friend.. good post.
Devon Alexander is the true destroyer of careers. Kotelnik, Urango, and Bradley still haven't fought since Alexander was done with them.

the only fights recently that i would give credence to for manny are his fights with morrales, marquez and cotto,
in addition to that i feel that he lost his first match to marquez, and he ddint put cotto on a downslope, neither marquez or morrales,
all over the fighters he has fought including hatton, clottey, margarito, de la hoya and clottey were un remarkable
I hate going down this avenue, because i have alot of respect for him as a fighter and the fighters he has foughten, but they were all hand picked to cater to his style
between being weight drained,beaten, ect
clottey was the only fighter recently not to have been on the downslope, but he is an un-remarkable fighter
Yes an unremarkable fighter with a super defence who came in as a Lt Heavy.
come on man floyd isnt gonna brutally beat you,he out thinks you and outboxes you.he's not gonna ruin anyone,he may make you doubt oyur boxing ability but you can go to the club after you fight floyd

fighters ruining other fighters is just a myth. it's all up to the losing fighter how he can accept defeat and move on from a setback. it's all within the character of the fighter. if there are fighters who got ruined by defeats, especially in the mental aspect, it's because they are mentally weak naturally and that weakness is by no means caused by their opponent.
:lol1:
Never heard of a fighter being ruined by potshots and shoulder rolls. He has some dominant wins, but no one's career was jeopardized after a ring encounter with Floyd.
Now a fight with Manny seems to be a sure ticket to an unplanned retirement, brutal punishment, and a rehab stint. Physical and mental destruction, just ask Ricky and Oscar (and Clottey if you can find him :lol1:). Margarito's fight with Pac almost cost him his eye...
LMAO!!!:lol1:
So Floyd should have won FOTD then....damm they gave it to the wrong guy. Pacquiao need to pack that trophy up and ship it to Floyd.
Or Bhop. But he should give it back.
also you should see what pot shots did to hatton and chavez, seriously go back and look at his fight with chavez
