By Lee Callan: Legend of Super Middleweight boxing Chris "Simply the Best" Eubank gives his take on the upcoming Super Six World Boxing Classic finale between WBC Champion Carl "The Cobra" Froch and WBA King Andre "Son Of God" Ward.
Regarding fellow countryman Froch, Eubank revealed 'The thing I like about him is he doesn't realise how limited he is... which makes him dangerous, because that gives a fighter a certain resolve - Steve Collins being the prime example. At British, Irish, Commonwealth and European level, what Froch lacked in energy he made up for with power, and at World level what he lacks in speed he makes up for with heart.'
And regarding American Ward, Eubank said 'The mentality of Andre Ward may be - he's 35, I'm 25, I'll beat him on youth; like Michael Watson against Mike McCallum. If that occurs, I expect Carl to bring all the accolades back to Britain because Ward will be stood in front of him. If Ward doesn't underestimate the resolve and punching power of Froch, then it looks like Ward to win.'
Eubank finished by questioning whether Froch really could KO Ward. 'Having said that, he struggled to put away Taylor, didn't he; it was on accumulative effect rather than concussive power - like how McCallum knocked out Watson - so maybe he lacks the power at World level. Some may argue his last three opponents were past their sell-by date. All questions will be answered, I guess,' said the man who was known as Simply the Best!
Eubank himself was involved in classic Super Middleweight bouts with the aforementioned Watson, Nigel Benn, Graciano Rocchigiani, Henry Wharton, Steve Collins and the last King of the division, Joe Calzaghe. Here's hoping the S6 Final lives up to those standards.

Pretty good interview, and I agree..I hope for a good fight is all, good luck to both men...
It's kinda funny that Chris has this reputation in England as a buffoon but the way he's able to articulate his thoughts when it comes to boxing is superb.
Indeed, but in fairness he is a bit of a Buffoon, albeit a loveable one. It's a reputation that's well earned. He's very articulate for a Boxer, though, so when he speaks on the sport he is well worth a listen. Definitely one of the more insightful voices in British boxing.
Anybody else read that with a lisp??
haha, I always used to do that. These days I'm trying to read Eubank quotes with a whistle. It's pretty ****ed up.

Lol, I specifically chose to say Caveman, instead of Chimpanzee, for that exact reason...
I'm not trying to say he looks that way becuz he's black, he just does.
Pacquiao looks like a cat
Carl Froch looks like a vulture
It happens
Fuck off, Geoff.

"I'm that one world champion who has never lost, who has never been knocked out, who has never dodged, (and) who has beaten every man he has contested without any luck involved.
"In the middleweights, James Toney got what was said (as) a very lucky decision against one of his opponents . Michael Nunn has already been knocked out (by Toney).
"These fights - Michael Nunn, James Toney - are contests of which I only have a 50% of winning. But until they're mandated, I'm not obliged to fighter either (of them)."
"My performances for this year and last year, I keep taking a step back to take two steps forward - I'm the master of it.
"If James Toney wants to keep boiling himself down to middleweight, so be it. I'm not going down there for the devil to come knocking on my door.
"I'm the man, they have to come to me, and that's the way I see it."
"I won't fight (Iran) Barkley because of his frame of mind - I know where he comes from, you see.
"I know how hardened and unrelenting he must be in that ring. That mentality - no, that's not happening. I wouldn't have the correct mindset in that particular match.
"His attitude spells danger, more than the better boxers and better punchers than what he is, and not just danger in one way - I mean danger in both ways."
Fuck off, Geoff.
