You've just described Wlad's jab. Congratulations Einstein :geek9:

They both had similarities in their jabs. Both paw with it at times, and at other time throw it hard. And while Wlads jab is a bit more refined, Lewis was able to work a far greater variety of punches off his jab. And that is the jabs primary function, to gauge distance and set up other punches.
Certainly.
As has already been said effectiveness is the criteria. To me an effective jab isn't just being dominant alone, but what else it sets and or opens up. Based on this here are my top 10 greatest heavyweight jabs.
1. Larry Holmes
2. Sonny Liston
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Joe Louis
5. Gene Tunney
6. Lennox Lewis
7. Wladimir Klitschko
8. Micheal Moorer
9. Riddick Bowe
10. Mike Tyson
Good list. Personally I would have moved Ali above Sonny. Liston had an impressive heavy jab, but I feel Ali's was a better tool. I would also drop Tyson who had a good jab for his size and style but I think Pinklon Thomas's jab was his primary weapon and he got pretty far with mainly just it. So naturally I would add him.
Lewis above Wlad? Riddick f*cking Bowe, the most overrated heavyweight in history? Have another cheeseburger and think again!
You know what the difference is between Lewis' jab and Wlads? Lewis' jab set up an arsenal of other punches. Wlad has an excellent jab. But against the crappy competition he has around him he should be able to work off of it and he doesn't. Would his jab be as effective against live comp? Maybe, maybe not.
By the way, why don't you post a pic of yourself and I'll post one of me now. Don't be afraid, just man up.
Based on what i have seen.
1. Holmes
2. Liston
3. Wlad
4. Ali
5. Lewis
Honorable Mentions: Louis, Tyson.
why Lewis tho???? His jab is wayyy overrated imo. His big right however is a different story.
actually replace joe louis with sonny liston. dude had like a freak/implant of a left arm. lol like hellboy's arm. . . ****ing thing was HUGE. that jab was nasty. . . he might not have been the greatest boxer, but his jab was NICE. . .
but still, no boxer in history, aside from maybe Ali, has been able to utilize the jab like wladimir klitschko. his jab is a ****ing power punch.
lol his arms were like to long for his body, not to mention his huge fists !
I'm also questioning Wlad's jab. Yeah it's been very effective, but against who? Samuel Peters? i think Peters could be the worst heavyweight champ of all time! Even though Haye lost widely, every round was very close and Haye. Haye at times was easily able to avoid Wlad's jab with simple head movement and the thing is i've hardly ever seen head movement from him. But his Jab hasn't failed him in over 6 years so i think it deserves credibility.
*Bump*
i really dont rate Lennox jab, Wlads is much better. Foreman i'd have in there purely on the fact that he could KO ppl with it. Seriously he was rocking prime Holyfield with those and Lennox coundn't do those with his uppercuts !
I think Louis' must be in the Top 5.
Certainly.
