If PACQUIAO Is So "Big" in Asia, Why Can't He Make Money There?

I mean seriously, how stupid can you people be? Let's take a look at the numbers, the Philipines is a 3rd world country, the avg yearly income is what compared to the U.S? Why doesn't Pac fight in the Philipines? How stupid can this question be? Why don't you ask why Agbeko doesn't fight in Ghana? Or Katsidis in Australia, or even Margarito in Mexico... Basketball is big in Europe and Asia but if you want to make money, you play in the U.S. You have to put butts in the seats, while boxing is popular in the Filipines, they aren't selling shows, selling a ton of PPV's and bringing in a big market for boxing in that country. In boxing, Las Vegas is the place to be and fight. That will bring in the most money from the sanctioning bodies, tv rights and PPV buys. That is a fallacious comparison. You can not compare a one-off event to a sustained league. Or team sports to individual events. That is basic economic sense. For example, you can have a one-off event (like the World Cup) in South Africa. It draws money into the country, etc. Similarly, a one-off Pacquiao fight would be a big draw to the PI economy... or at least (if held regionally) provide greater opportunities for economic cooperation. Right?

Gino the USA mostly offers the biggest purse/money in professional sports. That's the reason why most professional athletes from all over the world try their luck in the states rather than their own region. Pacquiao makes money in Asia as well but it's dwarfed by what he gets in the USA.
