Russell slapped Estrada around but it's yet to be seen how effective his speed truly is. He had a guy standing in front of him which allowed him pretty much to throw punches at will with no response. Gamboa certainly has the power behind his fast punches.
at this point Gamboa unless Russell dominates early he gets into ruts where he can be outworked
in 18 months who knows the kid has such a huge upside
Hope they make it happen at 126 or 130 in about two years.
Gamboa hurts the 23 year old Russell right now. At some point down the line -- maybe 18 months, maybe later -- Gary should be a major force among featherweights, along with Mikey Garcia. 126 is a hot division....
Russell has a slight speed advantage
Gamboa hits harder
Russell I think has better defense.
Gamboa has more experience.
Not sure about either's chins. maybe slight edge to Gamboa because he's fought stronger guys.
Great fight.
Very close. I'd have to say Russell is ever-so-slightly faster than Gamboa. However, Yuri hits significantly harder. If Gamboa didn't throw so many of his punches with bad intentions, it might be a different story.
Who do think wins?

Gary Russell Jr. has gotten too cocky for my taste, he's giving the impression that he's so much better than his competition, except he's not showing it, that's my main problem with him as of late. He'll like throw a 7-8 punch combination without committing to it, hardly any power behind those shots. I like Gamboa's speed better, Gamboa isn't pitty patting either.
Despite all that, Gary Russell Jr. has the capabilities of making serious serious noise.
