He had to be a success,I know Filipinos who bought 10 tracks each to boost sales for patriotic reasons.
Sure...
Anyways, good for him. He's obviously not a great singer, but not as bad as many seems to think on this board. Especially not when he sings his filipino songs.
Where's Floyd Mayweather's masterpiece "Yup" at btw? 4th?
Pacquiao probably on the level of a good karoeke singer.
But the music charts are not about the level of singing quality, how popular the act is has a lot to do with shifting records.
Not really something I would listen to, but it good to see Pacquiao crossing over to the mainstream, it will only help to promote boxing and bring new fans into the sport.

But does Pacquiao really have a hit on his hands? It’s hard to say. His status in the secondary charts makes him like a Golden Gloves champion trying to score a pay-per-view fight. The numbers show his song performing well only in more small-to-mid-sized U.S. markets. A single like Pacquiao’s might play on loop in DeKalb, Ill., before it earns any airtime in Chicago, said FMQB’s Mark LaSpina.
“It’s more of a grassroots thing, but in some cases, they’ll do well on these secondary charts and move onto the bigger markets,” he said.
This song is one of the most played and favs on pinoy radios.
I seldom hear his song on pinoy radio.
From the article, MP hit no.7 in the U.S. in the secondary adult contemporary rankings, where Lady Gaga hit no.1. -New York
