First of all please people don't turn this thread into a "racist" thread. I was just thinking how come in the sport of boxing Black's and Hispanic's (mostly mexican's) dominate the sport. I've rarely seen a Caucasian exciting boxer ( not saying that there isn't any), and yes I know that most black's and Hispanic's come from rough neighbor hoods that sets them I guess in sort of a path to this sport. I'm Just curious to hear your opinions, oh and If you are pursuing this career, please let me know your story how or why you got started.
I bet we will have some interesting stories :boxing:
God another one of these threads (sigh). Regardless of what science and studies have shown when it comes to the differences in race and athletics (there are none) people still need to cling to it. Crutch away folk. Crutch away. Ive posted them before, and I Ive also explained them in detail for people who cant be bothered to read the entire things. So this time, I'll put this in the most basic terms possible. Any genetic gains that may have been created due to breeding "The biggest and strongest" is also open to genetic losses from years of normal American living. The concept that "Well the slaves were bred to be strong" doesnt mean that a group will see those benefits forever. If you can become stronger in such a small amount of time, then you can lose it in short order. It all comes down to YOUR genetics (like, you as a person, not as a people) and environment. Those are the two biggest factors when it comes to a fighter. Marco was wealthy and he would ****ing murder most fighters his weight in his prime. Not because of the comical idea of having special blood, but because he was born with gifts and worked hard to perfect them. Morales was poor, and grew up fighting. Yet Marco was able to beat him. Its just so ****ing basic I dont know why people need to cling to an outdated theory that has been disproven even by your own eyes in sports over and over. Another factor to consider is, who is actually playing the sports? How do different cultures view sports? White Americans (as a whole) dont care about Boxing. Black Americans (as a whole) dont care as much about Boxing as they used to. Then you have Mexicans. In my opinion, they are the only reason we still have Boxing on tv in America. Maybe growing up around it influenced them to participate? Maybe they had an uncle who boxed and liked to show them a few moves. People just need to use their heads a little bit on these things. Still, I know that some people just HAVE TO believe that their race is just super awesome and so much better then all the rest (or at least White people), and nothing will ever change that. You're wrong, but for you, I post this.
Sure, genetics and environment have a lot to do with it, but so do the schools and the people that they're learning from. In Mexico, boxing has been popular for a long time and they have a certain way of training their fighters that is proven effective. Thus, a MAB can grow up in the suburbs in Mexico and become a much better boxer than a Bntosnian or African who had it rougher and is more athletically gifted.
Idk it's a tough argument..

Retarded thread
Eastern Europeans/Slavic fighters are taking over boxing and are dominating the higher weight classes. We're also dominating the amatuers. Most of those great amatuers will become great pros. This is just the beginning of the Eastern European domination.

Good example. Boxers come from working class and ghetto environments.
I agree with you for the most part, but there are exceptions. MAB came from a wealthy background.
