As much as Mayorga touched Cotto...if it was Angulo doing that it would have put Cotto out. Mayorga has faster hands. Less technique, but much faster hands.

Angulo is too slow and Manny Steward has Cotto fighting a more disciplined fight. Cotto wins a UD. Easier than Kermit did.

If Angulo wasn't rusty because of that BS about his visa I would pick Angulo. As of right now I can't pick a winner.

I don't know about beaten horrifically but I agree, I think this version of Cotto get's hit way too much to withstand what Angulo brings. You are right, he is a better boxer than Marg even though I think a prime Marg brought more pressure and threw more punches. A prime Cotto wins by UD but Cotto now, the slower, less active Cotto does lose to Angulo. Not to make excuses but Angulo was sick during his fight with Cintron, you could see how pale and gaunt he looked. He started off very slow but even in that conditioned almost had Cintron out in the last round. I think he would get beaten horrifically, and I think a prime cotto has some trouble because perro is just big. cotto's best weight is 147, not 154, I think he's better at 140 than 154 just because of his dimensions. he's not a full blown JMW, but he would get the job done against perro in his prime in a close fight.

I absolutely like them both but Angulo sparks Cotto. ^^^^^this^^^^^^^ i respect the hell outta cotto and i love the guy but if you think he still has enough to beat perro, you have lost all your fukn marbles. and no matter what, the margarito fight is gonna take some more out of him. i don't think cotto would last past 8 against perro. cotto is not 75% of the fighter he was.

Yes, I said boxing skill. Angulo is one of those guys pigeonholed into a mold that he transcends. He is slow but he still has a good jab, straight accurate punches, and well placed combinations. Cotto will do better with his jab, be much faster, and avoid many more punches than Angulo does but it can't last. Cotto isn't that guy. Eventually, he gets hit also. Angulo DESTROYS people when he hits them. He's knocked a good percentage of his opponents not just out but OUT. He's a legitimate 'one punch power' fighter. He will land some jabs of his own, throw combinations of his own, and with absolute certainty end the fight when he connects well. Angulo isn't raw. He's just slow. He'll find his moment. So you're basing this on him beating Julio? Acline? Losing to Kermit? . He hasn't proved himself. He looked good vs very mediocre opposition and he struggles vs alright opposition.(Kermit and Julio). I expect him to look even worse vs Cotto and anyone else with a decent chin at 154.

The thing is though Angulo has a hell of a chin, big power, and keeps coming forward. That's really all he needs. Cotto doesn't know how to fight backwards. I understand Angulo is the poor man's Antonio Margarito but Cotto is shot to bits at this point and Angulo as much as I think he's overrated, he's not gonna be Cotto's little b*tch and back up. This is a fight purely on styles, not resumes. Cotto doesn't fight anything like WWE Champion Superfrog Cintron. I'm so confident it this if the fight were to ever happen I'd put up all my points on it. Margarito's experience is what made him a beast later in his career he fought the best. Meaning he saw it all. Every style and loss some fights. That harden him. Angulo has 20 fights. Long periods of inactivity. He's young and strong and can run over a lot of fighters. Cotto has also gathered experience and though he may not be in prime anymore I think his experiences with Margo, Clottey and Mayorga in combination with Steward have made him a smarter fighter. That experience would carry him over Angulo like Kermit did and Julio almost did.

Margarito is better in every aspect besides power. Angulo is too slow and is not a high volume guy. Angulo fights like he has cement shoes. Margarito fought the best at WW before fighting Cotto. Of course he is. Skill wise it's not even close, but the thing is Angulo just has that perfect style to beat Cotto. Not really. Like ThePhantom5 said, he's worse than Margarito in every aspect besides power.
