It's not over for Berto, he can still be a champ and p4p boxer

Collazo was probably his best win, and that was not even a win. Good fight though, I gave it to Collazo by a round. Berto is not a bad fighter he is just not a very good figher. The Zaveck fight should be an interesting one though, another welter champ that has been largely untested. Yes Collazo is his best win but i can't count it, i had Berto losing by 3 rounds. I can see Zaveck beating him, I've heard Berto doesn't care anymore and is just turning up for a payday.

I think berto has that natural gifted ability to be a 3 division champ, but the outside influences damage his career. How hard was he really training for ortiz? Its hard to judge Berto, on paper he is a former "World Champion" yet the title was gifted to him in the form of a vacated title fight against a poor fighter Yet when he stepped up in competition he lost to Ortiz and should have been given a loss against Collazo. He does have a couple of decent wins against Urango and Quintana but those wins are nothing that special. His fight against Zaveck is a big one that he needs to win, there's many better fighters out there so if he can't beat Zaveck for the IBF title its going to be hard for him to come back. Berto rose to the top of his game and could not beat a fair light welterweight. I doubt he will get much further.

I definitely think he can still be a star in this sport. He has an amazing skill set and a great personality. However, instead of providing excuses he should take responsibility for his defeat and work to improve on areas of deficiency.

1 decision loss to a good fighter in which he fought his ASS off does not make berto a bum. Now he's tasted defeat. He's seen it all now, even been dropped on the canvas. It can't really get much worse. If berto drops the wannabe mayweather act, starts training hard and gets that hunger back I believe he can be a star. From what I hear, he's doing the opposite. Berto has only faced decent competition twice and lost both times. Yes, he did lose to Collazo. I know Berto fancies himself as another Mayweather, but all he's fought is bums. Al Hayman has given Berto a golden highway filled with HBO dates, easy fights, and big paydays. Of course he can't handle tough opposition. If Berto could last more than 5 rounds with Pacquiao I'd be shocked.

If the boxing media can turn that rat eating 3 KO loss bum pacquaio into a superstar i'm sure they could resurrect berto's career. He just needs to string up a few B level wins
