It really wasn't that great. If you think that's one of the GOAT fights then you haven't delved much into boxing history.

I think the commentating and KD must have sway people's opinion about how great this fight was, it was a very good competitive fight with a lot of happenings early on in the fight nothing more nothing less. Totally agree, it was decent but I wouldn't have it up for even fight of the year. I think before the fight you had the issue of paper champ v quitter so the fact the fight turned out competitive may be why it's getting some (OTT)love here.

Gonna disagree with TS,an ATG fight needs both fighters to fight for all 12 rds which did not happen in this fight..It also needs to have brutal exchanges which this fight did not have either..Was it a good fight??Hell yes..Was it an ATG fight??Hell No...

:lol1: @ the poll. the whole GOAT discussion is just a matter of opinion. to me, i was a fan of both guys, saw it live, i was pumped since it was announced. to me personally it was one of the best 6 rounds i ever seen. as for claiming it one of the greatest fights of all time, eh, i would say not really due to the later half where berto was clinching ortiz a lot. this is foty imo so far, but to be considered of all time, i think it falls short. i voted 'agree' on the poll just for the fukk of it, but yeah, it's quite not there, but personally for me, it was an amazing fight.

The fight as a whole, no. But I think round 6 comes close to being in the same league as round 9 of Gatti/Ward and round 10 of Corrales/Castillo. Not quite there though.

i would say the round where Berto Clocks ortiz and hammers him the whole round then Ortiz hits him with the left hook is one of the Greatest Welterweight rounds of this era. One of the best rounds of the year IMO

idk about most of yaw'll but Frazier vs Gerry Quarrey is one of my all time favorites and that missed out on being one of the all time greats, this however is no where close !

That 6th round is just amazing. I show it to friends who aren't into boxing and they get why boxing is such a cool sport. Great ad for the sport. But it's hardly one of the greatest fights ever. Not at all. there are many fights out there you can show to your friends that could pique their interest to boxing Chico-Castillo 1, Gatti-Ward 1, MAB-Erik trilogy: if you want slugfests Tito-Vargas, Floyd-Chico, Bhop-Tito, MAB-Hamed: if you want sweet science technical bouts these only came at the top of my head, check out video trading block for some other fights worth mentioning
