When you speak about talent, real talent this guy is what your talking about. His name is Gary Russell. I think he will be a PPV star like Mayweather in a few years. He has defense, which is what seperates him from all the rest. He blocks, catches, rolls, slips, side steps, counter, he can fight inside and outside. Hes always in shape, very very dedicated. The only fighter that I see thats on the track of being a pure all around boxer ,meaning offensive and defensive wizard is Gary Russell Jr.
Whether we like it or not it's going to be Alvarez. He already has the same TV ratings as the Mexican soccer team in Mexico and his TV ratings in the US are really impressive. If he continues to win he's the next ppv king.
Skills don't make you ppv king, it helps, but it's not the entire reason. You have to attract the casual fans and that's something Canelo's manager and promoters have been doing.
Saul is big in mexico but here in the US no one knows who the fucck he is. His stardom will grow if he continues to win , but I dont see anything speacial. Hes just another Cotto. Alvrez has already peaked, we have seen already what he can do, he is nothing speacial, hes slow, mythodical,0 defense, no foot work. If you stand in front of him and let him punch you hes superman, but if you know the ring and you stick and move canelo becomes clark kent, just another guy. You'll see, keep wathcing. 5 years from now if russell stays committed he'll still be undefeated,he'll be bigger and if he carries that punch up with him, he is a starr PPV Block buster hit, just like Mayweather. Im sorry but canelo is not gonna last. Right now if he fought Martinez you'd be able to see more clearly. Martinez would beat him easy, very very easy, maybe even stop him in the middle rounds.

The PPV kings of this decade are going to be Canelo, Khan, and maybe Frenkel.
these guy s wont be around long enough to be PPV kings. Canelo and khan doesn't have any defense. They will have short term success. After khan fights Prescot he'll be out of the picture. After Canelo fights a slick boxer like Martinez he'll be exposed and out of the picture. Canelo hits hard but his style is very taxing. It wont be long before someone with hand speed and footwork out boxes and embarress Canelo, and Khan fights like an amerture, I promise you he'll be knocked out when he steps up. Prescott is Khans cryptonyte. To be a PPV king you have to have something that stands out. Mike tyson was a killer human pitbull, Delahoya was goldmedalist prettyboy that could knock you the **** out,Mayweather has super skills that destroys every style, hes rarely hit in the ring. Russell fights like a pitbull standing right in your face, with the skills simular to mayweather you cant hit him back. Thats very diffrent, that sets him apart from the norm, With time he'll be in the spotlight. Exposure is the key for russell. The same for Mayweather, once the world saw him perform on the big stage it was game over. I know delahoya gave him that oppotunity to be in spotlight, but it was Mayweathers skills that kept him in the spotlight. Canelo and khan is nothing speacial, khan has already been KTFO, and canelo eats 50% punches in every fight.
Probaly but he is and will be until he gets beat; and same can be said for Filipino counterpart.
I mean its a very different avenue to stardom. Most of the "it" guys, Tyson, ODH, SRL, ALi got there through wins/and losses, although in ODH's case he had the young girls from the beginning.
While he was always considered a great boxer and was p4p#1 when he fought ODH, he couldn't move more than 400k ppvs.
If it wasn't for the 24/7 for the ODH fight floyd probably wouldn't be a star.

If Pactard fought Ortiz people would be saying "Oh look, Pactard fighting another bum coming off a loss who quit against a B level fighter in Maidana, Pactard cherry picking mentally weak opponents"
When Flomo is fighting Ortiz " Ortiz is #1 Opponent and amazing fighter!! Pactard can only wish to fight someone as great as Ortiz"
To become a PPV star all he has to do was is winning and move up right in weight; nobody expected that Mayweather guy to be box office smash with his style so it possible. He's going to be behind the 8 ball but I like the kid.

When Pacquiao retires, Khan or Donaire will inherit the crown.
Sorry you said PPV, I was thinking p4p.
Alvarez, Khan are drawing biggish figures at the moment.
Jro, floyd only drew 400k before oscar as the b side in the gatti fight. But he has definitely built himself into a draw.
But, the 400k(not really 400k but close to it) was from the Judah fight. if I'm not mistaken he drew more against Judah than he did with Gatti. And, he had to be the A-side of the Judah fight. I don't see how he would be the B-side to Judah.
Floyd dosn't fight bums, so I guess we'll never know. Now Pacquiao he fights bum after bum, but his entire fan base are casual boxing fans, who will turn into Mayweather fans after Mayweather Knocks him the fuuck out
This same dikriding fa ggot has said multiple times on here that manny only fights floyd leftovers.
You're pathetic.
Anyway, gary russell appears to have the goods but perhaps we should wait till he actually fights someone.
He WILL NOT he a ppv king.

just from this reponse I can see your not a boxing fan. Any real boxing fan appreciates true boxing. If you dont like Mayweathers style then you dont like ALI,ROBINSON,LENARD,ROY JONES,PATTERSON ETC ETC. tHEY WERE ALL MASTERS OF SWEET SCIENCE. They were all acused of being boring and running at some point in thier career, but we all know how it turned out dont we, lol
I seriously doubt SRR was every accused of running or being boring. Ditto for Leonard.
And, all of them had different style. What exactly is the "sweet science" in your opinion?
I have no idea what caused mayweather to become a PPV draw as you say. I think that when you say he could draw even against a bum, you are wrong. Unless everyone has gone stark crazy.
I am positive that he has not improved or added any fan enticing tricks to his boxing game since before he fought Oscar. And right up to then, he couldn't draw flies. He was notorious for "stinking out the house". I recall one fight of his, in a small arena, which was only about quarter full if that, and Larry merchant saying that he can't understand that "a good boxer like Mayweather, has never drawn a crowd, and stinks out the arena". He then pointed out people who were actually getting up and others who were walking out during the fight. He said that this was normal for a Mayweather fight.
So what changed?? Has it perhaps been Mayweather's increasingly bold, crass out-of-ring behaviour??

My whole reason behind my statement was, that if and when Mayweather retires, the boxing world will be missing that high level of boxing, that beautiful form of the sweet science. Russell seems to have that flicker of talent, on top of having some heavy hands. If he continues to ko people and improve his boxing IQ he will be a PPV king. Mayweather is proof that people love and appreciate a good boxing exibition. Who else makes if look s so good, russell is the closet to Mayweather skill that i've seen lately.

when will pacquiao fight someone worthy and risky like Ortiz. If he is a level C fighter in your book than what the hell is clotty an margarita, level Z
No one is talking about Pacquiao but you.

Is that how you react when someone gives you an opinion you don't wanna hear?
Someone says the girl you like is ugly and then you say about how Pacquiao cheated with a prostitute. Is that how you react?
