Ithink they should a 140 or 154 would be fun or a 126.....
with all the alphabet soup belts it would be cool to see the best fighting the best (assuming theyar able to get the best to fight in the tourny :) )
and the supersix and 118 ones have been good....
only downside is like i mentioned before, is if they dont get all the fgihters that should be in the tournament....
and if a guy gets injured he is out....
but over all i think it is a good way to get great matchups between top fighters and find out who is the best in a certain weightclass
feel free to post ur thoughts and if u dont want tournys, please explain why :boxing:
Yes, even though divas like Dirrell and Kessler tend to ruin them.
yea even when guys pull out....
it is good cause there are alway replacemnts....
and the bestfighters dont pull out cause they arent b!tches and they want to win
i cant stop thinking about potential matchups and how much i would like tournaments in more divisions....
also..
if a top fighter elcted to not participate in a tournement for his weght class....
eveyone would know he is ducking.....
don, bob, lou, gbp and gary shaw could all make some pretty nice cashflow.
yeah its great for the sport. the super six got kind of messed up with guys dropping out but I feel like Froch and Ward were almost bound to rise to the top anyway. whoever ends up being the best at 168, you get the sense they had to really, really earn that distinction. thats what we need
every wightclass should have a tournament...
they could stagger them so they do two or three a year.
i understand protecting a fighter but he shouldnt have a belt unless he is ready to defend it against the very best....
a fighter shouldnt even chalenge for a title untill he is ready to take on all comers....
Yes, I really enjoyed the super 6 tournament. Well I know it hasn't finished, but so far it's been good for the sport. Yeah, it had some flaws, for example Ward fighting at home during the entire tournament while Froch and AA had to travel a lot, and also the injuries were problematic because we saw some boxers we didn't expec to see, but in the end I think it was great for the sport. Exciting fights, the pride of winning a new tournament, and of course, no "ducking"!
its the best way to get fans excited.
imagine 154
canello, angulo, cotto, margarito, lara, and k9
or 126
donaire moves up :) , gamboa, salido, juanma, chris john and mikey garcia.
hbo and showtime should both do it....
they could make good money and we could get great entertainment.
