Before every fight after his encounter with Floyd, he's said the same exact thing. With Hatton, Marquez, Mosley and now Ortiz.
It's always "I am confident so and so will beat Floyd come fight night. I've been watching him in the gym and his jab has looked great. I had success against Floyd with my jab before I injured my back blah blah blah".
Then after Floyd kicks their ass, the sucking up begins. "Floyd just may be the greatest fighter of all time. Pacquiao doesn't stand a chance! Blah blah blah."
It's always the same thing. I almost know exactly what DLH is going to say before he says it.
After this comment
He's a promoter,he's promoting
This comment makes me puke
If I was Mayweather I wouldn't do business with GoldenBoy anymore, they always seem to have his worse outcome at mind.
He's bringing them millions of dollars and all Oscar can do is bet against Mayweather, and sign with the enemies rather it be Pacquiao or Top Rank.
Mayweather needs a Promoter that's supportive of him, not against him, this **** is kinda sick.

Sure he's not too good at it, but that's what he's doing.

Partially I think its De La Hoya's attempt to stir some hype/intrigue around the fight, something that should be expected from a fight promoter. Another aspect is I think Oscar is vicariously trying to relive his opportunity at fighting Mayweather through Mayweather's opponents. Somehow I think he's reliving the fight between them and regrets tremendously the things he wasn't able to do against him.
In retrospect I think it's easy to second guess one's actions even though there's no evidence that if De La Hoya had used his jab the outcome would have been any different. I, like many others, thought the judges had the fight much closer than it actually was.
No different than what DLH usually says when he changes his trainers like a track star changing his socks!
“I’m in the greatest shape in my life, this is the best training camp I ever had.”
lmfao....................
He's a promoter,he's promoting
Nothing wrong with promoting, but damn. It wouldn't hurt to switch it up every once in a while. Its not good hype when the fans know what to expect. It's almost as bad as Freddie Roach's "I'm really worried about this fight" speeches.
