I just heard from some reputable sources that this is circling over in E. Europe right now that the fight is off and now I am hearing that Vitali suspended training and is headed back to the Ukraine to deal with some political stuff. Will Wlad step in and fight Adamek? I cant see that happening either since Wlad seems to be enjoying his time off flying all over the world and hanging with celebs so I doubt he's ready for that fight. Is this just a minor interruption
Yes he would, and eventually score a nice clean KO.
But Vitali-Adamek would be kind of sloppy to watch.
Well, I was looking forward to it anyway. I like watching Big Vit fight and I think he would've chased Adamek around and brutalized him. It would've been a spectacle.
The crisis is happening NOW. There are protests going on in Ukraine. You can't ask Vitali to choose between the fate of democracy in his country and a bloody BOXING MATCH!
If it comes down to that choice, I know which one Vitali will choose every time. And rightly so.
Yeah, after reading a little more about what's going on in the Ukraine, I have to agree. Props to Vitali for doing what he can.
Vitali needs to fight. His last fight went one round, and to my eyes at least, he was losing it before the bizarre ending. It's admirable that he wants to be there for his country, but I don't see how abandoning the task at hand benefits anyone. There will be plenty of time to help after he's completed his obligations on September 10th.
It may be that Wladimir will begin training for the Sep 10 fight with Adamek, but we won't know for sure for awhile.
Personally, I think Wlad-Adamek is a more interesting fight than Vitali-Adamek because of the styles.
Really? I thought the opposite. Wlad would box Adamek's ears off.
I hope not because Vitali is my favorite boxer, but I understand its hard to really be motivated for a sporting event when your countries political system is in such a volatile state.
Unfortunately, it's true.
"When I learned what had happened in Ukraine, I stopped training for the fight and returned to Kiev as far as I understand that the real battle for democratic values is unfolding here - in Ukraine - and I cannot be an observer in this situation," said Klitschko.
