Koncz: "I was one that postponed this fight, or suggested to manny that we hold off on this fight for awhile (3 years @144 LOL) because there's the old saying that styles make fights, but then also styles break fights. My opinion, for some reason (Marquez is a smart counter puncher) Marquez has manny figured out"
I am sad for JMM really sad.....
just for fun:
Koncz: "I was one that postponed this fight, or suggested to manny that we hold off on this fight for awhile because we can't cheat USADA , but then also styles break fights. My opinion, for some reason Floyd is better faster bigger smartest boxer than marquez"

Michael Koncz said it though.
After all that's transpired in the past few weeks, people still listen to what Koncz say as if he's more than just a glorified package donkey and go-fer? :lol1:
Koncz was blowing his life savings trying to get Ibeabuchi out of jail when Manny fought Marquez the first time and was trying to get him in the ring for an immediate rematch.
A few FACTS for the misinformed...
"Pacquiao delayed fighting Marquez for 4 years after JMM gave him a boxing lesson in '04"
Marquez appeared to reach stardom in May 2004 when he rallied from three first-round knockdowns to retain his titles in a draw with Pacquiao in a sensational action fight.
HBO, which televised the fight, loved it so much they asked for a rematch, and Top Rank began working on it. But Marquez rejected a career-high $750,000 for the fight, asking instead for $1.5 million -- the entire license fee that HBO had offered for the rematch.
Then, following Marquez's easy decision victory against Victor Polo on May 7, duBoef said Top Rank offered Marquez $1.5 million to fight Erik Morales this fall on HBO PPV. DuBoef said the Marquez camp asked for $3.5 million, a figure even the popular Morales has never been guaranteed for a fight.

Marquez turned down 750K against Pacquiao to take 50K to lose to Chris John in Indonesia. This is a FACT.
When the Pac-Floyd talks initially broke down in the winter of '09, the first replacement opponent Pacquiao's team reached out to was Marquez. his response:
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told Sports Illustrated that he was approached on Thursday by Top Rank for a trilogy bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. A shocking demand was made by Marquez. He requested a 50-50 split on the money with Pacquiao. For a guy chasing a Pacquiao trilogy since their 2008 rematch, Marquez found an amazing way to say "no thank you."
http://slumz.boxden.com/f353/marquez-wanted-50-50-split-blood-tests-pacquiao-1329672/
So after turning down a then career-high payday and demanding the entire licensing fee, Marquez demanded a 50-50 split with Pac in 2010 as if he was a draw of Pac/Floyd's stature.
But Michael Koncz who wasn't even around during the initial fight or rematch talks, prevented it from happening?

So, they admit to ducking Marquez....
but it's inconceivable that they would have ducked anyone else. Say, someone who is bigger, faster, and a better counterpuncher than Marquez.

A clear-headed Pac fan, don't see those around very much any more. While not a fan myself I do appreciate him beating DLH as he has to be one of my least favorite boxers (talking Oscar here) simply because I think people way overrate him.
Well damn, I like the way you think. Points and green K coming your way. :boxing:
:lol1:
No not at all. Pacquiao is actually my favorite active fighter. He's my 2nd favorite fighter behind Tito. That's why I have him with Tito.
So of course I root for Pac. That's my dude. But, I'm not blinded by my fanboy-ism.
If you look at the beginning of this thread I'm defending Pac somewhat. They even call me a Pactard like in page 2 :lol1:
If Pac is on some BS I will criticize him. If he deserves criticism then he gets it from me. But, if he doesn't deserve it and a lot of it is hate related then I will defend him. If he deserves credit I will give it to him. If he doesn't then I'm not and I will call him out on his BS.
But, I'm a fan and I will always be a fan because of what he did on Dec 6, 2008. The greatest night in boxing history :D

Just out of curiosity, did you lose a bet to have Pac in your signature or are you an ex-fan?
Agree with everything you said about him. I used to be a fan but his opponent choices and all the BS that comes out of his camp just got old.

Truth be told. I'm one I think Berto was over hyped. I felt that back then. And, I thought Pac would have stopped him inside 5 rounds. But, he was the highest rated WW not named Mayweather/Pacquiao. That was the best fight that could have been made that didn't involved Mayweather. Plus he had the WBC belt so it would have been a unification.
So of course he should have fought Berto. There was no reason to make the Mosley fight. None whatsoever.
And, TBH I feel the same way about Ortiz. But, I have always felt that way about Ortiz. I just think he's getting over hyped and overrated by a few now. I think Pac would stop him as well. i think Floyd maybe stops him for sure wins going away IMO. But, that doesn't matter. Because, Pac should of fought him instead of JMM. Ortiz is the best WW not named Mayweather/Pacquiao plus has a belt as well. It's the best fight that could be made.
So shame on Pac for fighting these garbage ass fights. And, props to Floyd for fight Ortiz. It's a legit fight.
Give me young top rated prime title holders>>>>recycled, shot to pieces, washed up fighters any day.
And, you right the Judah fight would have happened if he somehow would have beaten Khan.
Just pure garbage.

Will you please use your flea brain once in a while? How could you ducking someone when you already fought him twice and beat him twice? think! think! use your flea size brain. You should capable of logical thinking of your own.

You are correct, I don't feel that neither Berto, Bradley or Ortiz could beat Pacquiao, but it's the thought that counts.
All you can ask of a P4P champion is for him to take who's next in line, and if that person next in line happens to be overhyped, a bum by some standards or too green, then thats not the P4P champs fought, but aslong as he takes them by there numbers (you can't complain about him cherry picking when he's clearing out his division.)
Well with the way you feel, I guess we've come to the conclusion that MARTINEZ is in another GALAXY when it comes to Pacquiaos next opponent, LOL!!
I could almost bet millions and be right that Martinez isn't next as some Pacfans may say that Pac will fight him in order to upstage Floyd.
..............
Koncz is blowing smoke to make himself seem relevant.
1. He doesn't have enough pull to postphone a fight or to persuade Manny for not taking one.
2. Koncz knows diddly about boxing. He's never fought, been with any other fighter, no experience whatsoever.
The fact is, Pacquiao was moving up in weight to make bigger paydays while Marquez was staying at the weight. If Marquez also moved up, maybe the fight would've happened sooner.
Why fight now? Pacquiao has basically no one left. People talking about Berto...Andre Berto who can't sell a ticket. Ortiz---he has been at 140 for how long? Before his big win, everyone rode that guy down. Who else? Bradley? Again, 140 and can't sell a ticket. Even still, Bradley is being lined up. Fact is, Pacquiao went for names like De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, then came close to getting the Mayweather fight, it didn't happen so he fought other top ten ranked welterweights. Joshua Clottey, for those with short memories, destroyed Zab Judah worse than Amir Khan did, lost a very narrow split decision to Cotto in Cotto's backyard, and was beating Margarito until he broke both hands. He was young, strong, never been hurt, former world titlist...Shame Mosley backed out of a fight with him, and preferred to opt for Berto instead of taking Clottey on. But since Pacquiao embarrassed him and he's need a long time to come back to the sport, people forget about him and hurl mud at Pacquiao.
When Manny opted for more money by fighting Mosley, people said he should've fought Marquez. When Manny agrees to fight Marquez, they say he's too old and he should go fight someone else. The middleweight champ of all things. Or, some unknown American fighter who can't draw flies. Get real. Pacquiao is scared of no one and is looking to earn the right dollar at the right time. Why is that a problem?
