1. is it becuase he's american
im not a big boxing fanaticm but alot has been said about this guy, who has never beaten a top 20 opppnent, is yet ranked high on certain rankings. he lost to 2 current top 5 fighters.
i noticed he won 4 back to back fight, but vs people of quality like myself and now is apparentyl in frame to fight wladamir
im sure even shannon briggs went 12 rounds with vitali and arreola never
anyway, just curious
ive heard he has herat, but so do i , and i werent last 2 seconds with klitscko
man the heavyweight division is **** right now. I hope ademak wins that will really wake up the division but Arreola almost knocked out ademak in their fight. Anyways Arreola is alright man i mean i think he is much better than an eddie chambers, he should probably fight david haye seeing how he has already taken verbal shots at him in the past.
because when he's on his game he's competitive with every HW in the world not named klitschko
he throws lots of punches
before he got huge (he should be about 225 lbs, perhaps even lighter) he was a very exciting fighter
the adamek fight was a lowpoint for him in my eyes
he got outworked (to be fair his hand was mush)
and he cant be getting outworked. that's not how he fights.
i don't want him to take another klitschko fight, but i'm certain he'll fight wladimir
HBO needs exciting fights
it would have been heresy 15 years ago to assume that HBO would abandon the HW division and its champion(s)
but that's what they did
most HW today are like watching paint dry
arreola is not.
and he's also a very likable character
very different in style, but similar to the K brothers in terms of being a nice guy that people can and want to relate to.
he's also got a classic american story of coming from very little in a bad area where most young men turn to crime and gangs (inland empire is no joke. chris is from the hood,) and coming out on top making good money
and he's mexican american and a HW, bro. and a warrior
what's not to like?
he's a HW that fights like a weight class boxer
Because other than Vitali, Wlad, and Adamek, he's the best heavyweight.
EDIT: Forgot Haye. But I wouldn't rule out Arreola beating either Haye or Adamek.
