i liked his combinations in the chisora fight
also when he was in trouble in rd 2 he fought back which kind of impressed me...kid still needs to work on that conditioning
Fury has done better than most expected I think. I still think he needs alot more experiance before going for a title. That is if wants to have a chance of winning it.
Exactly. Fury showed the ability to think in the ring and change tactics, which is huge from a 23-yr-old. "Feather fisted," what a laugh. He's a very strong guy, and I'm sure any of the people writing that would be on the floor from a Fury uppercut or right hand. Gotta give Del Boy credit for toughness. He hung in there when many others might not have.
Del Boy's 10th round 30-seconds of swinging madness was magical. It was largely ineffective but it was something.
How I wish David Haye could have produced something like that. Even if it was ineffective. It was just a bit of a fuck you to Fury who was bullying him in there at that stage. It was a nice moment. I wanted Fury to win, but if Chisora clipped him on the chin and put him down I would have been delighted for him.
Entering the ring to 'Black Velvet Band' also cheered me up. I like Del Boy. But he is a good notch below world-class, especially in his current condition.
Fury, for a 23-yr-old, showed good judgement during the Chisora fight. He didn't get sucked in to the rope-a-dope attempts by DC, nor did he get flustered when Chisora tried to blitz him. He's very young and has lots of time to get even better. And physique doesn't always equal strength. Fury is a strong lad already, he doesn't need Wlad's build necessarily. Chisora has a very good chin -- many others would have been KO'd by Fury last Saturday.
That's true. It makes me laugh that people were calling him feather-fisted. Chisora's head was bouncing all over the place from those uppercuts. Not to mention that the man is 6'9 and 18-stone, ffs.
I also liked the way Fury closed the distance. The commentator was wrong, imo. Chisora was far more likely to land his swinging hooks while Fury was trying to fight on the outside. Fury is not Wlad, and it's too his credit that he didn't try to fight like him. He started off with the ambition to fight long, and did pretty good at it. Then he got nailed and hurt, and revised his tactics. Swallowed Chisora up and his physical strength made it comfortable.
