Khan vs Mathysse

Amir Khan really impressed me against Zab Judah. Not that Zab Judah was the greatest fighter in the world or anything, but he was just outclassed by a younger, bigger, faster, more active, hungrier guy. Bradley don't want to fight, Alexander gets a gift every time he walks into the ring, and other than that, I see Maidana as being the next best thing at 140 lb. I don't think Bradley could beat Khan even if he wasn't scared. I would like to see Khan test the waters at 147. Nobody under 147 stands anything other than a puncher's chance. As far as Matthysse, I believe Khan likely overwhelms Matthysse with volume, speed, and power. I don't think this fight would be close.

in my opinion Matthysse beats Maidana, but Khan knock him out easier. Maidana it would be difficult as Matthysse not press the same way

dude. what are you talking about? mathysse is a full out pressure fighter (he can box a little too though) he's a master of putting pressure on his opponent. No he isn't. If he was then he wouldn't have lost to a low output fighter like Zab Judah or a low connect percentage fighter like Alexander (robbery, that one). He actually tries to box mostly. Watch a Matthysse fight and a Maidana fight back to back and you'll get it. Matthysse comes to beat you. Maidana comes to kill you. That difference in attitude is the difference in their records. I think Maidana beats any fighter that isn't prepared for war. Matthysse might make a late surge against them.

I agree There is something about khan-guerrero that captures the imagination. I hope he beats maidana and we can get that fight, both skillful, fast, colourful guys. I don't think khan or guerrero has fought someone as good as the other. Agreed, it would be a great boxing matchup.

At this point in Khans career he is looking up not down Matthysse has lost his 2 big fights rightly or wrongly. He also has overrated power as people with good K.O percentages often do fans see that 80% knock out ratio and get excited but who has he ever K.Oed that is any good? A hard hitting pressure fighter that can’t get Zab out of there in 12 rounds, is not that good of a hard hitting pressure fighter imo. Khan would beat him to a wide U.D if they did fight I wouldn’t rule out a late TKO either.

Mathysse is a crappier version of Maidana in my personal opinion. Not trying to put a diss on him because he is still a good fighter, but I think Khan would win a fight against Mathysse much easier then he did against Maidana. Those two "losses" to Alexander and Judah are going to hurt Matthysse.Promoters aren't going to risk their ighters against a dangerous fighter like him - too much of a risk and not enough reward.They've seen what's capable of doing and they're now in a position where they have no reason to want to fight him. What Matthysse needs right now is a couple of televised fights on the undercards where he can further establish himself to the American audience and position himself for fights against other champions in future.

LOL at anyone saying khan wouldn't take the fight...have we heard this before, with another fighter from argentina??? I think Khan would take the fight in a heartbeat if that was what GBP/Roach wanted him to do, and I think he would beat mathysse tough but clear UD. He is a better fighter now then when he fought maidana, and I don't think Khan would fight like that again, he would be more careful next time. At the moment Mathysse has nothing to offer khan, but hopefully it is a fight we can see in the future.

I believe matthyse and Maidana have the best shot at beating Khan. They still would be huge underdogs but based on styles those argentinians are the only ones that can threaten the King.

What do you think? Personally i would like to see Matthysse in the ring, comes forward with good power. Discuss... That would be a great fight,if Khan can not get Bradley I would rather see him fighting this dude

That would be a fight that I would love to see that would be in my eyes the best fight at 140 and I like Mathysse he reminds me of that guy that made Judah do the El pollo loco dance Kosta Tzu .That Boy has power for real.There's no way that Golden Boy makes this fight but the freaks love this match up .

I think Amir would be too cautious to get caught again like Maidana.

Matthysse is almost hand made to beat Amir Khan except for the fact he isn't a pressure fighter. Matthysse goes to the body hard. Khan can't hurt him and Khan can't take his punch - but he can win an easy decision over a Matthysse that doesn't bring it like Maidana does. Khan can stay strictly outside and Matthysse might oblige; with some moments here and there. I'd bet on Khan UD, but give Matthysse more 'options'.

I was thinking about this fight also, I think it could be very good since I think that Lucas is a bigger threat to Khan than Maidana, but that's also a good reason for Khan to avoid this fight.

Would prefer to see this over Khan v Morales, Amir doesn't need any more faded fighters on his CV/resume. Some people think Matthysse beat Judah and Alexander so he is a live threat but I think that is what stops the fight from materialising as the risk-reward for this fight isn't good enough for Team Khan.
